National Football Post's first 2013 mock

You aren't going to like it...

http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/...t-10-3639.html

For some reason it won't let me copy and paste it on my PS3. They have you guys drafting OT Luke Joeckel, and Geno falls to #9.

Molitoth 12-04-2012 01:00 PM

I will not give 2 shits about the chiefs next year if this happens. I barely care as-is.

siberian khatru 12-04-2012 01:00 PM

ChiTown 12-04-2012 01:01 PM

Wait a sec, I was thinking Travis Wilson, Fullback, Kansas State

Cannibal 12-04-2012 01:01 PM

If they pick on OT with the # 1 overall pick, the entire Kansas City metro area will implode.

BlackHelicopters 12-04-2012 01:02 PM

Ice pick, please.

They have Chance Womack, a guard from Alabama going 4th overall?

Ha-ha-ha-ha! Now that's value.

siberian khatru 12-04-2012 01:07 PM

They also have an OG going 4th, and another 8th.

No worries here because we've been drafting an OT every year for years it seems if you go by mock drafts. If it's not a QB it'll be Teo or Jarvis Jones.

9 offensive linemen in the first round, including 2 Interior offensive linemen in the top 10. Coupled with 8 defensive linemen.

He's saying 17 of the first 32 picks are going to be linemen?

Really?

All that mock means is that you do not have to give 2 shits about National Football Post's mock drafts.

That's just lazy writing by a guy that didn't bother to do any homework outside of 2 or 3 teams before putting pen to paper.

They won't. Joeckel is the only tackle in this draft with a high first round grade and it's in the 7-10 range.

Seems like this is the case we have. I don't understand it. I would think that RGtriple I & Luck would make teams want to draft a kid like Geno Smith and Barkley. I would think that the success they are having in the pros would help give notion to Geno Smith & or Barkley have the same kind of success in the pros. So I would think it would push their draft stock into the top 5 including the first over all pick. That is just my thinking tho.

Frosty 12-04-2012 01:51 PM

Pioli already drafted Albert's replacement. If he is still here and the Chiefs have the first overall pick, I think he trades down and goes corner or d-line (again ).

keg in kc 12-04-2012 03:26 PM

Yes, taking a tackle makes tons of sense. It's not like we have a young line that we've spent a lot of picks on already.

Mocks are better when the people doing them have a clue.

L.A. Chieffan 12-04-2012 03:28 PM

Geno at 9?

draft Te'o and trade back up for Geno! everybody wins!

DaneMcCloud 12-04-2012 03:31 PM

Will there ever be a year in which these internet idiots choose a position other than offensive line for the Chiefs first round draft choice?

It's not just a lack of understanding of the Chiefs' particular situation.

It's his gross miscalculation of the value of the offensive linemen in this draft.

Joeckel to ANYBODY in the top 3 is a horrible, horrible reach.

Buckweath 12-04-2012 03:59 PM

If the Chiefs have the 1st overall pick, it's a certainty that they will pick a QB, probably Smith. I'm really worried that they won't get the 1st overall pick and I'm not sold on Barkley and Wilson.

Barring some unforeseen turnaround, they will be drafting in the Top 3 and taking either Barkley or Geno. OR BY GAWD, I WILL KILL A PUPPY, MAYBE 2!

I will be shocked if they actually do take a QB in the first round at all.

Sorry, just too much history says they won't, but I hope they do.

I am afraid what I see happening from watching this team most of my life is
after Sunday's performance, Quinn is sold as the answer to Clark, for better or for worse.

( I know this is going to be like farting in the hot tub, but Quinn could be very good, we shall see.)

He really hasn't had the reps in the NFL to determine one way or another.

Once he gets his confidence, who knows what will happen? To say he doesn't have 10 x the skills as the ****stick #7 we have been stuck with watching the last four years, is disingenuous.

I think Quinn is going to be the guy whether Scott Pioli is retained or not.

Hopefully, the tiger changes his stripes, but he is going to have to show it to me. I have been let down just too many times, and Quinn was one of them back in the 2007 draft.

That's reeruned. Joeckel's good, but first overall is a pretty big reach. Could see the Chargers taking him 6th overall if AJ gets fired, because our O-line is a disaster.

If we have the #1 overall pick there's no other position to take. And from here it's hard to see someone get a hardon so big for anyone other than Geno that they'd trade up to the #1 with us.

If we have the top pick they may not want to go QB, but they literally have no other choice.

Even if Albert leaves and QB wasn't a need I wouldn't go LT in the first. Stephenson has shown enough to give him a chance at the starting job

Chiefs history is pretty damning but in the end the intent of our GM(hopefully new) will be more important. I would be very surprised if we don't go QB if Pioli is replaced. Hard to see a new GM come in and look at our roster and then go LB with the 1st overall pick. That or I am just trying to trick myself.

They didn't really react which I agree. It's an interview, you have the "expert on". You let them say their piece.

They said when the interview was done they go back and forth on what to do but ultimately still think you take a QB.
