Is this kinda like Sanchez vs. Cassel? Just a guess, but ill bet Cassel actually had better stats than Sanchez from 09 to 12. Of course, Sanchez was more successful in the playoffs.

Geno is only a second rounder and could be cut/traded to flush out Rex's mess after the season. He could be gone before Alex Smith from the Chiefs.
