Anybody made Alton Brown's beef jerky?
I know, that sounds like a sick euphemism for something, but it's not. I saw his beef jerky show the other night... now I have my raw meat (having marinated) in air filters on top of a box fan. Has anyone tried it? I'll know tomorrow morning.

I missed that. How do you do it?

Reaper16 03-04-2006 10:10 PM

No, I don't think I've even seen the jerkey episode of Good Eats.

If they have, I don't need to hear about it.

Sorry... glad someone posted the recipe. I'll report tomorrow. 8 a.m. will make 12 hours, so I'll know then.

 This stuff ROCKS!!!! It's different than what you're used to, but this stuff is WAY better! Excellent -- I recommend anyone that likes beef jerky go buy a box fan and three A/C filters... flank steak and your marinade.

I get my jerky from a local guy. Best I've ever had. That doesn't sound right.

Alton Brown Jerky? Paging Jeffery Dhamer.... ;)

Kidding aside, homemade jerky beats the hell out of the store-bought stuff. Especially venison jerky.
