Show me how to not be a loser in 2013
I think it's a PPR ESPN league: I took over a team from a dude who drafted nothing but Okie State players apparently. I inherited Ray Rice, and drafted the following (starters then bench):
The Last Cassel QB Russel Willson RB Ray Rice (Keeper) RB Eddie Lacy RB/WR DeAngelo Williams WR A.J. Green WR Randall Cobb TE Kyle Rudolph Patriots D/ST K Matt Bryant Texans Coach - QB: Eli Manning P. Rivers RB: Roy Helu Jr, Kendall Hunter Rashard Mendenhall WR: Brian Hartline, Nate Burleson, Dexter McCluster TE: Anthony Fasano |
First, you must submit your lineup weekly. And adjust accordingly - when teams have bye weeks (weeks they do not play) you'll need to replace him. If a starter gets injured (meaning he can not play) you must also replace him.
Hope this helps! :D |
Well I would immediately drop Rivers and Fasano for the best wrs on waivers. Otherwise you aren't doing too bad.

12 team league. |
Even in a deep league guys like Julian Edelman and Quinton Patton are available. Nate Washington is serviceable and undrafted in about half the leagues I'm in. I would rather have those guys on my roster than Phillip Rivers. It never makes sense to have 3 QB's on a roster (unless draftmaster format and a specific draft strategy....none of which applies to you).
Fasano...meh...I think you can do better, but if you think you know something there, then go with it. Personally, I would look for Zach Sudfeld and Zach Ertz. There is a small chance that guys like Jordan Cameron are available, but unlikely since he turned into a sexy pick. Sudfeld has been getting picked a lot lately too, but Ertz almost never does. Kendall Hunter isn't worth much to me. Someone might have dropped Le'veon Bell (it would be dumb, but it happens). If so grab him. Otherwise, I would scour the wire for solid backups like Bryce Brown, Joseph Randle, Danny Woodhead, Pierre Thomas, Joique Bell, Pierce, etc. Those guys should have all been drafted, but they won't last on rosters. Pierre Thomas and Joique Bell are guys that I would keep an eye on. You don't have to grab them this week. Knowshon Moreno is another guy I would think about stashing once he gets dropped week 3. Your running back depth is pretty bad, but you can beg, borrow, and steal your way with dudes like Thomas and Bell, if your receivers are good enough. If you can play a TE in the flex, I would look there. It isn't too difficult to get a 10 point a week guy in PPR formats. |
Well, I won week 1. I tried to be cute and switched Donnie Avery in for DeAngelo Williams. That gave me one extra point.
Hartline would've earned me an extra 27. |
Need halp.
My team is now: RW3, Eli, Alex Smith Arian Foster, DeAngelo Williams, Rashard Mendenhall, Ben Tate, Roy Helu AJ Green, Hartline, Hakeem Nicks, Burleson (pending drop for Dallas Clark), Donnie Avery, Ryan Broyles Greg Olsen, Fasano (possibly dropping) Chiefs D/ST Matt Bryant and Texans Coach. |
1. Drop Fasano, Burleson, Broyles, and Eli.
2. Hope every good player not on your team tears their ACLs. What happened to Rice, Cobb, and Lacy? |
Rice and Cobb were traded for Foster and Nicks. Lacy and Kyle Rudolph for Greg Olsen and Ben Tate
