That's another thing, look at the image below, I rarely download any programs, have virtually all the same software I have been using for years.. How big of a SSD should I buy?

just use a SSD for your main drive and then have disk drive for storage

Just don't need that much will probably just run the OS on this and put data on the 750gb backup. I don't game so basically what I want is boot up time and shut down time as well as when the computer awakes.

The zero in "RAID 0" stands for the number of files you'll be able to recover after one of the drives fails.

Make sure you're backing up regularly if you go this route.

Yea, changed my mind already... Just going to run the 128 gb for the OS for now and keep the 750gb 7200rpm spinning platters for most of the data

Prices are dropping...I remember when paying a dollar a gig was a good deal for an SSD.

They are worth it though. I HATE rebooting my work PC because it doesn't have a SSD. I'm used to <1:00 boot times at home.

Yea, screw it, I am just gonna put the SSD's in and cram 16gb of ram in this puppy and keep it for a couple more years I hope.

Who has taken the plunge to windows 8 upgrade for 39.99?

FWIW I don't think doing RAID would be worth it. The performance jump from a regular drive to SSD is good enough for the majority of users.
