Sorry, Taylor. I made a bad assumption.

ChiefsCountry 03-16-2016 11:02 AM

The 2016 ChiefsPlanet Mock Draft is officially under way:

Marco PM his pick to me to get it going.

The Tennessee Titans take Laremy Tunsil, LT, Mississippi

CleveSteve 03-16-2016 11:03 AM

With the second pick in the Chiefs Planet 2016 Mock Draft,

The Cleveland Browns select Laquon Treadwell, WR Ole Miss.

http://cdn1.thecomeback.com/wp-conte.../treadwell.jpg

The Browns need to score touchdowns if they want to compete. Laquon Treadwell is a big, powerful wideout who wins all contested balls and will knock you out in the run game. Some have concern about his long speed, but he's fast enough in pads to run away from combine invite De'Vante Harris for a 60 yard touchdown. He beats double coverage and produces yards after the catch.

He wants the ball more than you. He wants to plant you on your butt when his team runs the ball. He will make you feel like a weak tween girl. You'll look back on when you passed him over to draft a quarterback whose accuracy and decision making are vastly overrated, or the QB who just won the YMCA title and rue the day.

Sending PM to SNR.

brucey_72 03-16-2016 11:05 AM

Damn that was quick.. on my other message board it takes about 4 hours in between picks

CleveSteve 03-16-2016 11:10 AM

CC told me to be ready.

ChiefAshhole1056 03-16-2016 11:19 AM

That was unexpected.. Back to the board

staylor26 03-16-2016 11:27 AM

Curveball already.

FWIW, I think Treadwell would have been a great pick for Baltimore.

RealSNR 03-16-2016 11:38 AM

Reeeaaally was tempted to take the QB, but I'm going to opt for the next Ed Reed instead.

The San Diego Chargers select Jalen Ramsey, FS, Florida State

ChiefsCountry on the clock

Rivers just signed an extension and he's a huge vagina. He would have made life very difficult in the 1-2 years he has as placeholder

this should be at the end of every sentence that starts with "(Philip) Rivers."

Agreed. Chargers ****ed themselves with that contract.

It's become clear they are too far away to win anything significant with Rivers. This was the perfect year for them to begin a rebuild.

CleveSteve 03-16-2016 11:53 AM

Does CC know he's up?

Tough call with the Cowboys. Between him and another player, going with this one. I think he fits the Cover 2 scheme perfect. Could be the Cowboys version of Derrick Brooks.

Dallas Cowboys select Myles Jack, LB, UCLA

brucey_72 03-16-2016 12:10 PM

Jack is going to be a beast

Mother ****er!!

Lol Oh well...

The Jacksonville Jaguars select Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State

Bosa and Fowler = Much improved pass rush.

brucey_72 03-16-2016 12:18 PM

Draft has worked out perfectly for the 49ers so far

ChiefAshhole1056 03-16-2016 12:25 PM

Well shit, didn't want to go this direction, but Ozzie will go BPA at position of need here:

The Baltimore Ravens select Vernon Hargreaves lll, CB, Florida

It was between him, Stanley, or Buckener, but at the end of the day Balt has struggled at CB and need some fresh new talent which I think VH3 provides. Stanley isn't good enough to go 6th, and Buckener is a wildcard to me. Would've really like Treadwell or Bosa here though.

staylor26 03-16-2016 12:28 PM

Good pick. It was between him and Bosa for me once Jack came off the board.

brucey_72 03-16-2016 12:29 PM

The San Francisco 49ers select Jared Goff, QB California

49ers have their franchise QB. Was planning on taking whichever QB was on the board. Couldn't of imagined Wentz and Goff would both be on the board.

CleveSteve 03-16-2016 12:30 PM

I understand, bro. I commend you for sticking to your board. There's no shame in that.

Ooh I wonder if crow will draft his favorite prospect here... his team definitely needs starters at the position. :Pinky:

The saints will hate this draft if it goes this way.

The Philadelphia Eagles select Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State

With Bradford under contract for 2 years, the Eagles can groom their QBOTF. Wentz is a perfect long-term answer.

Oh, and I did get all 3 PMs.

Ronnie Stanley - OT, Notre Dame.

chiefscafan PMed me his pick:

Quote:

Bears pick A'shawn Robinson, DT, Alabama

Need to strengthen front seven regarded as a dominant player will make rush D and pass rush even better.

Chiefscafan drafts someone from Alabama. Color me surprised.

With the Saints biggest need pass rushing, you can hear Sean Payton with a huge sigh of relief when this guy stays on the board.

The New Orleans Saints choose Shaq Lawson DE Clemson

Payton can thank Olivier Vernon for that one.

Lawson was a no-doubter all the way until that signing. I still almost took him but I liked Stanley a little more as a prospect.

I don't think Flowers is a true LT and I'm not responsible for using a 1st on him. Ultimately I think he's a better fit at RT and while I'm not a fan at all of taking back to back OTs in the first round, I didn't take the last one and I still see a LT hole.

Yea, I also think given their situation, you can't pass up Stanley and giving Eli bookends for the remainder of his prime so he can get the ball to ODB.

I was taking Carson Wentz if he fell.

Because as the GM of this team, the possibility of moving on from that overrated, overpaid hack of a quarterback I have would just be way too enticing.

Unfortunately, my dipshit predecessor gave him entirely too much guaranteed money so I'm stuck with him for the foreseeable future.

Yea that's what I was alluding too.

They put all their eggs in the Eli basket, and now they have to protect that investment.

The Miami Dolphins draft...MACKENSIE ALEXANDER
CB, Clemson

kccrow 03-16-2016 10:03 PM

I won the draft. Everyone go home. :P

j/k. good picks by all... although I do question CleveSteve going for a WR over a QB when your team doesn't even have a QB. I understand that you could go QB at the top of round 2. However, I think taking the best QB on your board, then going for perhaps the 4th or 5th best WR on the board at the top of round 2 would have been much better use of your draft picks given Cleveland's situation. I don't consider the drop-off as great between a Treadwell and a Michael Thomas as I do the drop-off between a Goff/Wentz and a Cook/Hackenberg/Prescott.

Hey if the Jags didn't have Bortles he wouldn't have made it passed me, and I certainly would've taken him at 2 or 7.

Absolute steal at 8 for our former OC.

ChiefAshhole1056 03-16-2016 10:11 PM

Yeah some minor surprises so far, but Cleveland was clearly the biggest. Looks like Costner is running the show again.

Has DT been notified?

Please bold your draft choices.

And stay the **** away from Direckshun, because he'll fill your head with ****ing poison.

BigChiefFan 03-16-2016 10:23 PM

The Dolphins have a bunch of needs, but I couldn't pass on Alexander as he was considered a 5 star blue chipper coming out of high school and played exceptionally well at the collegiate level. He's a little undersized, but he has a not stop motor and plays with a chip on his shoulder. I also think the draft is deeper at D-line than CB and I'm not sold on the other positional prospects this high up in the draft, like WR.

Vontae Mack.

No matter what.

brucey_72 03-16-2016 10:49 PM

It was a toss up for the 49ers: Goff or Wentz, I love them both. Plan was to take whichever one was there. Do you think I made the right decision??

It's a great fit for Miami. I'm drafting for Miami on another board and I took Hargreaves and I'm wishing I would have taken a different player (who plays a different position.) not that there's anything wrong with taking one of these two guys at that spot, but now I'm having trouble filling another position when I had a great player staring me in the face in round 1, who I considered, but went with corner instead.

Like I said, it is definitely a good pick and I'm glad you took Alexander over a couple other corners who have had more hype recently, but I wonder if you will look back later like I am and wishing you had made a different decision.

With the 14th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select, Reggie Ragland, linebacker, Alabama.

The silver and black have the makings of a great defense, and the addition of a high energy middle linebacker should help contain the ground games prevalent in the AFC West.

I think I prefer Pesty in his new role as draft commentator.

It's like listening to Mike Mayock except with less phlegm in his voice.

Honestly, don't know if it'll matter unless the Browns can sign Fitzpatrick between now and then. He's the only QB out there that legitimately gives them time to work with a rookie with a few extra holes in his game because Fitz can win right now. Kaepernick and Griffen are garbage, so acquiring either wouldn't change my mind about Goff or Wentz at 2. I'm well aware of the talks between Cleveland and San Francisco, but its kind of a whatever at this point. The deal is for a 3rd round pick, which doesn't scream pass on a QB at 2. It screams, we're desperate for 2016 and that's about it.

staylor26 03-16-2016 11:18 PM

Hopefully the draft doesn't play out like this, because the Raiders will definitely take Elliot if he makes it to them.

I'd love for them to draft a 2 down LB at 14 though ROFL (not that I'm not a fan of Ragland)
