I made homemade caramel this weekend.

Surprisingly good, and surprisingly easy. It was more or less just boiling some brown sugar, heavy whipping cream, honey, and butter together. It tastes just like the inside of a Milk Dud.

Butterscotch is even easier - just mix brown sugar with butter. Add a mixture of milk, flour and egg yolks to get pudding/pie filling.

Whoa, I'm going to have to try that.

Pioneer Woman's blog is a must. I cook stuff from her pretty much on a weekly basis.

How about a very easy Dulce De Leche. Turns out fantastic and just a can of condensed milk. You can put it in the crockpot and just let it cook overnight and have it for breakfast.

Here's a great monastery of nice Catholic nuns that make great Caramels: http://www.trappistine.com/aboutcandy.asp

And they ship!

I found her rhetoric humorous, not stuffy. I like what I have seen and need to test a few things!

I love milk duds.

BlackHelicopters 04-10-2013 07:47 AM

Not a darn thing wrong with caramel. And porn.

ChiTown 04-10-2013 08:00 AM

I have a homemade whipped topping I can put on the caramel. My wife says it's a little salty, but, whatever....
