There are seperate servers. But the world is big ass.

You earn influence by pvp, pve, nearly everthing you do. The only problem is you can only earn if on your home server.

You can go to another server and help out a friend in quests, storylines, but any influence accrued will not apply because you're away from your home server.
Oh ok, thanks for the info. So when you create a character, you don't select a server, it just kind of assigns one to you and then you're free to go back and forth between servers (with the influence penalty, of course)?

Yeah I'm blown away on how huge it is and we still havn't seen the other two races (Sylvari, Asuran) area yet.

This next beta weekend we will be allowed to test the new races.

No... You do pick a server first then create your toon. Anyone you know else that's joining up with you plan your server selection carefully so everyone is on the same page.

And yes, there will be no boundries jumping from server to server barring the influence thing you mentioned.

That's why I love social MMO's. I've meet some cool people playing in the past and some long term friendships.

In GW2 they've added rewards for helping out your fellow gamer. Gaining Exp by rezzing someone you don't know is one of them.

Another site giving out 25 keys, with a slight twist. You need to submit a sketch of a weapon. I'm not an artist so I can't help with this one.
