The bottom line for me is that if I pick up a 55" 4K TV, regardless of the price, I'm going to be very happy once it's mounted on the wall while watching programs of my choice.

Unless you're the guy sitting off to the side... your TV review.

The very narrow viewing angle won't make it the best TV to watch sports event with all your friend since only people sitting right in front of the TV will have the best picture quality.

Maybe Black Friday?

Tvs are impossible on black Friday. They are always picked over and I'm not willing to wait in line for hours to get one. I'll just wait for the non amazon sales where I have a fighting chance to land one.

It’s not right for the space.

What model????

Buy a native 120Hz enhanced like the LG "tru motion" if you can, the TCL is not going to make you happy gaming.*

The Costco C803 is very slow according to reviews, Their better models are adequate if you do not mind streaking and on a 55" TV your going to notice.

*Shop for TCL P607 if you want to save money but it is an 60Hz enhanced to 120Hz but is much faster than your $350 TCL.

Quote:

The C807 has a below average handling of motion. It has an average response time, causing some visible trails to appear behind fast moving objects. It uses PWM to dim the backlight, but only at low backlight levels, and this isn't noticeable to most people. It can play movies from a Blu-ray or DVD player smoothly, but some minor judder is present when watching movies from a 60Hz source. Most people don't notice judder, so it isn't a big issue. The lack of motion interpolation features may disappoint fans of the soap opera effect.

I'm not an avs guy, but I have a Samsung plasma downstairs and always preferred the picture to LCD.

I have an LCD 1080p TV and it never really looked right, kind of fake.

Then I finally found a reasonable priced OLED tv, and it really looks great resolution wise, and gives me that plasma color depth. I love my LG oled tv, got it off amazon, last year's models to same some $$.

They are great in dark theater rooms or man caves with no windows. My whole wall is windows and a projector meant blinds closed (which meant no bikini watching) but I think the new Oled sets blow projectors away.

You are dead on! No LED 1K TV has the blacks that a Plasma has, it just has that nice rich warm picture which is very detailed in the later models. A 1K TV next to a plasma is , well like putting Dane's $400 4K LCP next to the LG.

If I could find a used 1080P plasma that was lightly used I would buy it in a heartbeat for my bedroom. (Some movies you don't want in 4K:D:D:D) I held on to my dinosaur 32" CRT's as long as they would live for the bedrooms.

Thats a nice set it has a quick refresh rate from 120Hz native processor and then enhances it to 240Hz. I bet it looks good on games too.

Football is the best but the HD concerts are pretty good also. Got a great sound system to play them on. the Chiefs group down here is coming over on Sunday to watch the game.

I just got a TCL for my bedroom....its great. I use plex media server on my home network and roku has a plex app that works awesome. Far better than my Panasonic's DNLA software

Not even an issue

It appears that you have zero experience with this TV but by all means, keep linking articles that are completely irrelevant

I’m looking to put a tv on our main level. Half of our house has a second story upstairs. There is a balcony over our family room that currently doesn’t have a tv. We go downstairs for family tv time.

There are 8” tall windows in the room where I️ need the tv with a 3 foot drywall gap above them and another 5” worth of windows. We have window coverings in the lower, but not upper windows. Plus there isn’t a good spot to hang a projector.
