I think he took a pounding in Seattle, but a year away might have done his body a world of good. If he's been keeping up with his training and not sitting around pulling the inflatable rip cord on his ass, he could be a problem for us and the rest of the league if he went to the Raiders.

He retired and Seattle put him on a retired/inactive list. He can be reinstated and his old contract with Seattle still governs.

I don't want Lynch. I want to draft a RB from this great RB class. Oakland should too. I'd be more worried if they drafted Mixon or somebody than a retired 30 year old RB with a shit ton of mileage.

Isn't Lynch from Oakland? Thought I read he grew up a Raider fan or worked at their stadium as a kid watching Raider games. Dudes got a SB and big bank. If he's really wanting to play again it makes sense it would be Oakland, he lives there etc. Might give them a hometown discount. He probably wants to wear that Raider uniform before he really retires. The Raiders just signed Cordelle Patterson and TE Jared Cook, they get Lynch and they'll be a top 3 offense. Scary good. Werent they like 5th overall last year?

Doubt it even happens, but Lynch would be the type of RB that would fit in well with what they do on offense. Makes more sense than AP honestly, if they are stuck on going the over the hill route might as well go for the RB that can do it all.

As a 3rd WR? hell yeah thats a great move. Not only that but he's the 2nd best return avg man in NFL history only behind Gayle Sayers-

The only guy to ever be able to reach 1,000 yards with Alex Smith, and he did it in 15 games. This year the guy was hurt mostly and targeted less with Hill and Kelce's surge.

He had already lost a step in his last year in Seattle. His ypc dropped nearly a full yard from the previous year and now he's a whole year older.

The Raiders may be better than we are, but Lynch will have little/nothing to do with it. He's not worth getting in a twist about in the slightest.

They have 30 million in cap room because their top QB and WR and pass rusher make less than 15 million combined.

The Chiefs are forking out over 50 million for the same players.

Reg McKenzie is severely underrated as a GM at this point in time.

Lynch won't be making $9mm in Oakland. Part of the trade will be a reworked deal.

Still would rather draft one of the many RBs in this draft.

Carr and Mack will be making huge $$ this time next year.

They sure will, and that's the big reason the Raiders haven't spent that $30mm in cap space we have available. Carr will likely get an extension this year.

You need to build a franchise out of the draft not from signing a bunch of highly paid vets.

True, but the time will come to pay the piper for the Raiders so we'll see how well they do with the cap once those rookie contracts are up. However, they have probably landed a franchise QB, or very damn close thru the draft in Carr so they are set at QB for a while. Better than hoping to land the best available retread every 5 or so years and paying him like a franchise QB.

All of those guys in Oakland are on their rookie contracts.

Oakland already has a very good team, stay the course, don't do anything that distracts you.

You also have a draft that is loaded with RB talent. They are positioned to get one of the top backs in the draft if they want.
