The art direction for this game is just mind blowing.

I just bought it for PS3. I know that it's probably better on PC, but I have a tough time getting myself to play games on the computer.

Best augmentations to start with? I'm guessing increasing inventory?

Yeah.

Make sure you get the icarus landing system, and max out the arm augmentations.

You only need to fill out a couple of the hacking aug slots to be a master hacker.

Hammock Parties 09-02-2011 11:09 PM

Final boss was pathetic.

Make sure you sit through the credits, though.

Cool game. Now give us the original Deus Ex with Deus Ex: HR graphics and cover system.

DLC announced

The Deus Ex: Human Revolution conspiracy grows deeper in The Missing Link. During lead character Adam Jensen’s quest for the truth in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, he mysteriously vanishes for three days. Where was he? What did he find out? The Missing Link reveals it all.

"We are very excited for Deus Ex: Human Revolution fans to be able to complete Adam’s journey in the game with The Missing Link DLC," said David Anfossi, producer of Deus Ex: Human Revolution at Eidos-Montreal. "Gamers will be able to experience a vulnerable side of Adam like never before, which gives the overall game a whole new dimension. The Missing Link propels players into compelling gameplay, beginning with Adam being stripped of his use of augmentations, new, visually stunning environments and the continuation of Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s conspiracy rich story.”

After being tortured by Belltower agents and having his augmentations disabled, Adam Jensen must rely solely on his basic capabilities to escape from a freighter, destined for an unknown location. While fighting for his survival on the ship, he uncovers another layer to the conspiracy that he never would have suspected. As Adam, gamers will befriend new, mysterious allies and fight ruthless enemies to discover what was happening in the shadows during the events of Deus Ex: Human Revolution!

So it's already grossed $30 million.

THE BUZZ: Deus Ex: Human Revolution has managed to ship over 600,000 units during its first week of sales on all platforms.

WHAT WE KNOW: According to estimated worldwide sales figures that have just been released Deus Ex sold around 656,000 units during its first week on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The Xbox 360 version of the game sold best with around 348,000 units, the PlayStation 3 sold 228,000 units and the PC version managed 80,000.

This is an impressive figure for any game during its first week, however the major question is, what was Square-Enix's sales target in order for the game to break even?

According to estimated worldwide figures released by Vgchartz, Deus Ex has sold around 656,000 units for the week ending the 27th of August - on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms. Most of the sales came from the Xbox 360 version with some 348K units, whereas the PS3 version saw 228K units with PC coming in at 80K. This is great news for Square Enix and good news for fans of the series, but we have to wonder; with a game in development for so many years, what will the magic number of units sold that it has to surpass to yield a profit margin for publisher Square.

Without reading the thread and spoilering myself, is this worth picking up?

I've been hearing nothing but good things. I'm going to play this once I finish up Witcher 2.
