2015 Rock Hall Of Fame Class Includes Lou Reed, Joan Jett, Green Day

Loooooooooooou!

Both The Smiths and N.W.A. were left off the list of new inductees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as Hall voters instead chose acts such as Lou Reed, Bill Withers, and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. They'll be welcomed to the Hall in April.

"About 700 music journalists, performers and other industry insiders spent two months deciding on the six inductees," David C. Barnett of member station WCPN in Cleveland reports.

Barnett adds, "Artists are eligible for induction 25 years after their first recording. Los Angeles soul singer Bill Withers' first album came out in 1971, but this is his first time on the ballot."

First, the ROR HOF is stupid.
But since it does exist...There is no reason for Joan Jett to be in there. For what? Just for being a female rocker? The couple hits she had and anything anyone has heard of are all covers.

She's a pioneer. Cherry Bomb was a huge hit and the Runaways were the first all-girl punk rock band. Her solo career produced several major hits and "I Love Rock & Roll" has been an anthem since he covered it more than 30 years ago. She also stayed relevant in the scene, helping out other artists and bands as well as producing.

She's literally the first girl Rock Star. She may not be known as a great songwriter but she's a great artist. That's every reason to belong in that dopey hall of fame.

Green Day has sold more than 85 million records.

This is awesome news. All of these artists are well deserving, but many fans are unaware just how important Joan Jett is to today's rock. She produced the first "germs" record, among other friends bands that got their start while the big record companies passed or barely invested in a rock genre that begun from Jett's investments and began to flourish and still to this day dominates rock artist sales.

Congrats to "the first lady of punk".

The Runaways are irrelevant since they would be nominated on their own.
I don't think she's had "several" "major" hits, and 1 song is certainly not enough for a HOF induction. And that was a cover.
Staying relevant in the scene (not sure how) and helping out other artists? That's HOF?
For such a great "artist" what is she known for? Some cover songs.
Might as well put Lita Ford in there.
Or Gary Glitter if having an anthem for 30 years is enough. At least he wrote it.

Please name all of the songs that Frank Sinatra wrote.

Thanks in advance.

I had a couple of her albums as a teen, and the woman knows how to rock. Whether she wrote or not, she could execute a song like nobody's business. I Love Rock And Roll is one of the best car songs ever.
