Married... With Children Spinoff

This Bud's for you!

And that horribly horrible pun is the way we're breaking the news to you that a Married…With Children spinoff show is in the works!

Sony Pictures Television is taking out a pitch for a new series based on David Faustino's character, Bud Bundy, sources confirm exclusively to E! News. Sony TV has not yet commented.

So far, there is no network deal in place, as pitch meetings are just beginning, but it certainly seems a promising idea...Right?

When we caught up with the whole former cast at Katey Sagal's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony earlier this week, Christina Applegate teased something might be happening. "We're going to do something with Dave maybe. I don't know if it will be in character," she spilled. "But I don't really know. I don't know what that's going to be. I don't know if I'm allowed to speak on that at all. So I should probably stop talking about it right now!"

More Kelly Bundy please...

That show has a sentimental place in my heart. However, I recently DVRd some episodes and it just isn't as funny as I remember. I'll probably pass on this spinoff.

The problem is that MWC was one of the first TV shows to do the things they were doing.

They were on FOX - because FOX would let them push the envelope - Kelly's Dresses kept getting shorter and shorter

Now a-days we are so desensitized to all the raunchiness around us that the Original - MWC - just doesn't have the same bite as it use to

Didn't she ruin herself with plastic surgery?

EDIT:

just saw the three prior messages.. I had a a well defined message here but the aforementioned references to the TV show I originally referenced undercut me by a waide margin

Which era of MWC did you watch? When i was younger, i thought they all were funny. When i turn it on now, i realize that the first few seasons were by far the best. The Marcy/Jefferson Darcy era simply wasn't as funny and towards the end, it started to get kinda stupid.

BTW, those beauties are gone. Not just from old age. Christina Applegate had a double mastectomy.

The "Steve" era was the best. The later years somehow managed to be more over the top and more predictable at the same time.

Two of my favorite episodes: The Christmas episode with Sam Kinison as Al's guardian angel:

The one where Al goes to the dentist:
