But behind the scenes, the Chiefs’ front office did not always run smoothly under Dorsey. Team chairman Clark Hunt’s decision to fire Dorsey was fueled, in part, by concerns about his internal communication and management styles, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation who spoke to The Star on condition of anonymity.

As one of the sources said while describing how Dorsey had removed two front-office executives without much explanation: “John does stuff and doesn’t tell people why.” Another source said Dorsey’s management style “could wear on people.”
If things are working stay out of your employees' way.

CHunt can blow me.

Then everyone should question Chunt's management ability because he couldn't communicate with John Dorsey about the changes he wanted to be made. By all accounts, Dorsey is an intelligent guy with talent. Apparently, Hunt couldn't make it work with intelligent, talented guy. I guess money was the deal breaker, Hunt didn't have a problem with Pioli having all sorts of communication problems because he always kept the price low and profits high.

Interesting. Hunt seemed to have no problem with Pioli's tyrannical leadership style. His results, on the other hand...were problematic.

I still can't figure this whole thing out...at the end of the day, Hunt and Reid had to view Dorsey as easily replaceable. Time will tell.

Micro managing will cost this team.

47 years from our last Super Bowl, I'd welcome Jeffrey Dahmer as a GM if he could replicate Dorsey's recent success.

Dorsey defenitely had some successes in Kansas City, but he's also had his share of blunders.

The missing part of this equation is Clark's management style. Were these concerns communicated to Dorsey, and was he given a chance to change them? Obviously you'd think so... but you never really know.

Hunts aren't about winning.

But contract wise, they weren't working. If you NEED to cut talented players just to sign your rookies, then something's going wrong. What if Mahomes turns out to be the real deal and we can't afford him in a few years because of cap trouble?

I'm pretty sure profits are a lot higher now than when pioli was here.

It's weird how people really act like Clark is cheap.

"Could wear on people" and "communication style" - yes, these are totally sane reasons to fire one of the league's best executives a month before training camp starts...

And believing what CHunt is telling us - that it was a contract dispute. i.e., money, would be the saddest truth of all.

Hammock Parties 06-25-2017 04:58 PM

Damage control by the Clarks.

If Hunt money had not been tossed around so cavalierly no one would give a shit that Dorsey doesn't always say "please" and "thank you" and dares to wear jeans and a sweatshirt instead of Armani around key Arrowhead sponsors.

FU Clark...go back to Texas, focus on raping the earth and buying Tavia new body parts because you suck at running your dad's team.
