Think of the $250 as rental money. Would you pay $250 to rent that TV for 1-3 years? The way advances are happening in televisions today, that's a call that can go either way, IMO.

Trash it?

But when we have to use another service, I usually just say yes, whatever, give me whatever you want and let me get the hell out of this airport.

I thought all credit cards automatically gave you rental car insurance like that, almost every article I've read praising credit cards lists the rental car insurance as a reason. But the asshole at Enterprise or whatever one time told me my credit card didn't cover anything. I felt like he was lying to me there, but I just bought the insurance anyway to get the hell out of there.

A lot will, but mine's specific benefit is that it's a primary insurance coverage rather than secondary. With secondary, you have to submit it to your own insurance first. With primary, you just submit it to Discover and they take care of it.

You know what Daface, I have that receipt right here and I bought that TV on my Visa card on a Saturday in May because the bank was closed...

I did pay it in full as soon as the bill came in though...

Then the only difference between you and me is that I do that for as many purchases as I can because I want the rewards.

I don't think that's the only difference

What an idiot ! Debit cards take your money straight from your account. A credit card gives you 30 days to pay for it in full. Personally I've used the 0% credit card offers for over 25 years and NEVER paid a lick of interest. People that pay cash for everything and have to resort to debit cards are for the most part people that have no discipline.

Just a warning: this has been discussed around here ad nauseum. He won't ever agree, so I'd suggest not wasting your time.

Didn't you recently say you had a 6 figure bank account? You are exactly the person who would benefit from using a credit card as often as possible, to get more interest on your money that's just sitting there. I don't think you're a toothless moron, or whatever Dane said, but if you can't distinguish between credit card debt that you intend to pay off in full when the bill comes, and bad debt that can't ever be paid off because of poor judgement/purchasing decisions, maybe I should reconsider.

I wonder how much perkstreet is making off of your required $5,000 dollar daily balance...something tells me it's more than 2%.

Finally, dude, that was spoken about as well as anyone here has ever posted... I can tell you are a really smart guy and I am sure Perkstreet is making money or they would not be in business... but to be completely honest, the reason I do not use credit cards is because I don't have to... I bank a few thousand every month and still do everything I want to do... I don't need to make more money and I just don't borrow money and that's the bottom line... Don't believe in it, hold no grudge against whomever does, it's just not for me...

Will I need to one day? Who knows what life will hold later on.... I hope not though..

If it hurts to be stupid, I can't imagine the pain and agony that R8ers must endure each and every day.
