****THE OFFICIAL DRAFT TYLER BRAY THREAD****

Because it just might happen...

I know we have Bray threads...but we need an "OFFICIAL" one...
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/VwvGZmotfBI?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

**EDIT** I am talking about selecting him in the 2nd round as I do not think we draft a QB with the #1 overall pick***

Bewbies 01-20-2013 03:58 PM

I think he'll be drafted, high. But, if he were to fall and we were going to do the Redskins and draft a backup as well Bray would be the one I'd want.

Mr_Tomahawk 01-20-2013 04:00 PM

I stated in another thread that I am starting to accept the fact that we probably aren't going to pick a QB in the first. This regime should not be judged off of one draft pick. Now if we are still looking for a franchise QB in a couple of seasons and Wilson/Smith are making runs in the playoffs, that's another story...

I think it's time to start anticipating us drafting one of the 2nd/3rd rnd graded QBs. That said...I would be happy if we selecting Bray in either of these round. Even if he has queer-ass tattoo across his back...

I think if we were going to draft Bray it would be more of a Bengals situation than Redskins.

Pass on QB in the first and draft one in early in the 2nd round.

Based on what? Talk radio guys who don't know shit? Making a statement like that now is humorous since the draft is so far out.

This would be fine with me as a backup to Geno Smith.

What has you convinced of this?

farmerchief 01-20-2013 04:05 PM

That clip kind of shows what some scouting reports have noted, needs to work on his accuracy, as sometimes misses "high". Everything else, I like about him...

BigMeatballDave 01-20-2013 04:08 PM

Someone post that douchey tattoo he has.

Bewbies 01-20-2013 04:08 PM

Bray's ceiling is sky high, and I've stated on here many times that I like him as a prospect.

HOWEVER, when you hold the #1 overall pick you have to get the best player available at the most important position. We have to get our hands on the best QB prospect in the draft, and I don't think that's Bray.

The biggest question for me with Bray isn't his maturity level (cause I'll never, ever know that), but it's whether all the losing in Knoxville was his fault, or his dumbass coach. It's entirely possible that Bray was held way back by a shit coaching staff and he's better than we've seen....

 It's way too soon to assume what they're doing 3 months from now.

Will the combine and individual workouts be enough to raise him to the consensus #1 when he isn't playing in the senior bowl...?

The top QB's never play in the senior bowl, give me the last top 5 thought of draft pick that played in the senior bowl, it's standard.

The position alone will raise him a long with all of the workouts. Frankly the only thing Geno Smith has to worry about is another one of the QB's passing him.

Mecca 01-20-2013 04:27 PM

The only thing Geno Smith has to worry about is another QB passing him, physically he doesn't have flaws so he should workout great, Tyler Wilson I'd say is similar in that regard. Their worry should be that Matt Barkley who doesn't have the same talent and does have a few physical flaws will likely interview better as he wins intangibles..

So what does a team prefer?

Again...you would see his name #1 overall on mocks just like how Luck was the consensus #1 on most mocks this time last year.

If you put a lot of stock into Bucky's and WalterFootball's mock drafts...go for it. But most mocks I see, Geno isn't the consensus #1.

The overwhelming majority believe that Geno is the #1 and the ones that don't believe that Geno is still the #1 QB.

Yea because the once in 20 years QB isn't there we can't take one first. I bet Miami is thrilled they thought this and drafted Jake Long and Chad Henne instead of Matt Ryan, that worked out real well for them eh? So then they had to take Tannehill in the top 10 a few years later.

Matt Ryan is worth more than all 3 of those players combined.

Is anyone willing to put a signature bet on it for the offseason...?

If we draft Geno with the #1 overall pick...you can have right to my signature for the remainder of the offseason.

If we don't draft Geno #1 overall...I get rights to your signature for the offseason.

I am confident we will not take Geno #1 overall....how confident are you all? It is kind of the premise of this whole thread.

I don't put much stock into mocks at all. Some guy blogging from his mom's basement is not a GM for an NFL franchise.

I used to like the 3rd one that came out the day before the draft by that guy that used to write for the Dallas Morning News. But he was uber connected, so his was quite a bit different.

DaneMcCloud 01-20-2013 04:35 PM

John Dorsey, Andy Reid and Clark Hunt will not draft a 21 year old kid with maturity issues at #1 overall.

No ****ing way.

For me, way too early to tell.

If I had to guess -- and this is going totally against what I would rather them do -- I would venture to guess they'd go the FA route this year and take a flier on a QB in the mid rounds.

Tyler Bray is going in the first round. Chiefs, Eagles, Raiders, and Cardinals definitely need new quarterbacks. Both the Chargers and Browns, with new regimes in place, could potentially look for new quarterbacks as well.

I think Bray's maturity will keep him out of the 1st.

Smith/Wilson/Glennon/Barkley are the only ones I see going in the 1st. And I only think 3 of them go in the 1st tops. Last year's 1st rnd class along with the '11 class was strange...usually you see 2 maybe 3 qbs selected in the 1st rnd.
