NBC: Timeless
 

Been reading a lot of positive things about this pilot. Coming this fall:

Like the cast, just not much of a fan of time travel stories.

Haven't started this season yet but I really liked season 1 of syfy's 12 Monkeys.

Actually three time travel series coming to the big three networks this fall. Not sure why.

I am more of a fantasy buff, but when it comes to SyFy, I find time travel much more interesting than the other fare.

12 Monkeys has been better this season thus far than it's first season.

Finally caught the pilot. Thought they did a good job. Season set on my dvr now.

I was...underwhelmed. It didn't "suck", but I just couldn't get invested into the show for whatever reason. I do like the premise so I'll give it a few more episodes.

Side effect of having an historian as the lead character, maybe. There really wasn't much in the way of...stuff happening until the last quarter hour.

The changes when they got back are what really sold it for me.

I'm not sure what the deal is this year, between this, Flash and Frequency. Time travel must be this year's thing. Still haven't watched Frequency yet but I thought Flash and this did it well, in terms of paradoxes.

Watching No Tomorrow from the CW right now. That's a pretty cute little show so far. Quirky and funny, about a girl meeting a guy who thinks the earth is ending next May, and how he's just doing whatever's on his bucket list - **** work and anything else.

I'll give you that. That's really what finally brought me around, actually.

I never really find myself critiquing characters on shows I'm interested in, but watching the stock versions of the geeky historian turned leader, the overly macho "special forces guy", and token black dude with an axe to grind was annoying and distracted me from the build up. I realize it's just the pilot, so I'll give it time.
