So what's with his "derr" comment?

He WAS born near KC.

It's something that's obvious to people from around here. I was just pointing out that you're not from anywhere close to here.

Much ado about nothing. :toast:

Oh, right.

I thought he was saying that I was wrong about him being born near KC.

Demonpenz 11-01-2013 09:23 PM

No disrespect intended.

Sannyasi 11-01-2013 09:53 PM

I don't know what you guys want if you don't like Bad Guy... That's the kind of shit I wish there was more of on this album. Em is just picking some awful beats nowadays though.

This is icing on the cake.

He's a Cowboy fan.

Wouldn't he be a Lions fan?

Performance on SNL was a chaotic train wreck.

Just a bad mix. Couldn't tell what the **** was going on musically.

AussieChiefsFan 11-03-2013 12:06 AM

Oh, and the song Beautiful Pain, along with being a pretty good song already, has an Australian influence to it, so there's that. :D

Agreed. I think this will be an album that grows on you with each listen.

Anyong Bluth 11-04-2013 12:32 PM

The whole deluxe album has leaked obviously, I haven't listened to the whole thing but so far it's pretty good, and I think it is an album that will grow on you. Probably not an epic lp but a way better effort by him in a long long time.

I think he's at least on track to getting his personal life on track without so much drama and for a while he seemed to be really unstable, and some sort of delusional paranoia that any time he was in public he was really messed up in the head.

Probably a mixture of celebrity, substance abuse and any criticism while being in the spotlight and under constant scrutiny and his every move reported on did a number on him and was a total mind****.

I always thought he was- whoever said that he was a Cowboys fan, that is the first time I have ever heard of this?

Apparently he was a Lions fan growing up, but they sucked so bad for so long that he picked the Cowboys to be his "other" favorite team.

Anyong Bluth 11-04-2013 08:20 PM

He mentions on 1 of his new songs being born in Missouri (right outside KC) before moving to Michigan, but also he and his mom moved between Michigan and Missouri like 4 or 5 times growing up- didn't know that.

Also, not my favorite beat, but in terms of delivery and lyrics Rap God is ****ing impressive. Really amazing to deliver it without it coming out sounding like Shannon Sharpe tripping over his mouf.

I think he was born in St Joe

It's amazing how much he gets into those few minutes there.

Also pretty impressive live. Especially the part towards the end where he does a whole verse in like 10 seconds.

Have you guys checked out Jake Miller? In all seriousness he has talent.

I have heard a few of his songs. The kid has talent. A little more popish than Eminem but like I said very talented.

Stereogum did not like to say the least.

Pity the noise music underground. Think of it: An entire global scene taking root and flowering over the course of decades, finding strongholds in unlikely urban centers, developing its own crusty-warehouse touring circuit. And now it’s an entire network of bands, labels, record stores, venues, festivals — all dedicated to the pursuit of creating the most fearsome, gut-clenching endurance-test sounds known to man. And it’s now obsolete. Noise music has failed. It’s lost the battle. Because no noise artist will ever create a musical moment as purely unpleasant as the sound of Eminem rapping in a Yoda voice over a “Time Of The Season” sample. It just can’t be done. Your Merzbows and your Whitehouses and your Wolf Eyeses can now slink meekly off into defeat. The world’s most popular rapper has done what they could never do. The dream is over.

NewChief 11-05-2013 11:06 PM

I listened to about half the album today while working out. Em's misogyny and offensiveness just felt tired and off putting, and not in a "I threw this shit together at the last minute a'ight" Kanye way.

Pablo 11-06-2013 11:08 AM

I've listened to a couple of singles posted here in this thread; but haven't had a chance to check the album out.

It went from a first-day listen to something I'll just get to eventually after listening to those singles.

The Franchise 11-06-2013 02:31 PM

It's not bad if you remove the "I need a girl to sing the hook" songs.
