I don't have much but it's all I need.

- Black Ovation Celebrity
- Yamaha Stomp Box
- Digitech looper that I loop shit through sometimes. Also allows for headphones. Downloadable drums, keyboards, what have you. I'm working with strings at the moment. Beautiful combination that I picked up via Sound City when Dave and that hot violin chick were playing together while they discussed 'feel'. Love that part and it inspired me.
- Crate 120w head. Headed out soon I think.
- 4x12 Jackson speaker box (rare) and is the loudest thing I've ever heard when turned up to 11. It's amazing.

I've had this setup for a long, long time. Built up to it actually.

My son played that same sax. I still remember the incredible high when he played an actual song for me. It was an amazing feeling hearing that come out of him. Thanks for that memory man.

A USA with a C-Star, or just a Selmer?

Or did you pony up for the Super Action 80?

No C-Star. But I know jack about sax. One of the guitarists for MMJ brings out the sax for a few songs. That's pretty cool IMO

These are pretty legit. Loved 5th grade music class.

At the time I bought it, the Super Action 80 was the best Tenor of any brand [made by Selmer in France], the USA was the same Tenor, made in . . . wait for it. . . the United States.

At that time [1987-1988], SA80s ran $4K and USA's ran $2500. I got mine as a display model for $1500. Nowadays, in good shape, the same saxes run 3500-4K for the USA and up to 6K for the SA80. Good investment. Treat her like a queen.

The C-Star is a great mouthpiece, runs around $150. I also have an Adjust-O-Tone, which can be wonky, but also can produce some great timbre. It has a lever that slides a piece in the barrel that changes the mouthpiece chamber for different tonality.

Yeah, we paid around 6K at the time. He took it to first chair. I have it now.
