WTF is snow cream?

I was talking to somebody from North Carolina today. She had a thick southern accent. Asked if they have "snow cream" up north.

If it's ice cream, do people from North Carolina really call it snow cream? I've never heard of that before.

kstater 03-21-2013 06:03 PM

Make ice cream out of snow.

ForeverChiefs58 03-21-2013 06:05 PM

Never eat yellow snow cream. It's not lemon flavor

BigMeatballDave 03-21-2013 06:05 PM

You've never heard of this? Seriously?

salame 03-21-2013 06:05 PM

Your name is offensive

I've never heard of snow cream, no.

LoneWolf 03-21-2013 06:08 PM

It's what you put in your snow coffee to help wash down your pigeon sandwich. Everyone in North Korea knows this.

Deberg_1990 03-21-2013 06:10 PM

No idea, let's ask that gum chewing guy.

Snow cream, also known as Snow (obsolete spelling Snowe), can be one of two distinct desserts.
A cream-based dessert with one or more flavoring agents added.
A dessert in which you mix snow and a sweetened dairy-based liquid to make a simple ice cream substitute.

Odd to hear that from somebody called "WV". I grew up in WV and it was pop the entire time I grew up. Only when I moved to the midwest did I hear it called "soda".

Strangest yet are the people who call everything "coke".

Hey SNR, maybe she wanted you to "snow cream" her face!

I met some in Wyoming and Cali call everything "Sprite"

Not in the Eastern Panhandle. Perhaps in other parts of the state though.
I vaguely remember when I was a kid and my Grandparents called it pop, but even my 82 yr old Grandmother calls it soda now.

I think so too. Then wiperblade it off. Those southern ladies.

hometeam 03-21-2013 06:52 PM

This season was just awful. I am a Bears fan first and had not much interest in the Chiefs. Andy Reid has given me something new to complain about/ be interested in.

BlackHelicopters 03-21-2013 06:59 PM

Looking forward to more snow in spring. Have never made snow cream.

DeezNutz 03-21-2013 07:27 PM

I had never heard of this either until I saw Clerks.

JoeyChuckles 03-21-2013 07:44 PM

Snow Cream is that thing where you mix cocaine and heroine to form a thick white paste superdrug.

CrazyPhuD 03-21-2013 07:54 PM

Wait so when my buddy asked the girl at the bar if she just snowballed him and she said 'no I just gave you some snow cream' she was lying??????

BigMeatballDave 03-21-2013 08:17 PM

If you grew up where there is snow, how could you possibly not know about this?

You're from Iowa, and you do not?

I was born in Kansas and lived there through most of the 70s, then moved to Missouri.

It's almost shocking to me that anyone from that region wouldn't know about this.

And that boys and girls is how snow cream is made...

Chief Roundup 03-22-2013 07:30 AM

Snow Ice Cream is good. Just don't make it before at least a foot of snow has fallen. If you grew up in an area with snow you have probably heard of this term and or had Snow Ice Cream.
Mtn. Dew, Pepsi, Coke, Dr. Pepper are all classified as Soda Pop.

Were your parents born and raised in the Midwest?
