Gonzo to Bills for third and sixth. Anyone see this?

Got all of his relevant records as a Chief - i'll take whatever we can get to clear up some cap room and let him play for a team that isn't awful.

More leverage with the Bills. Giants won't give that up for him since they are contenders and TG wants a contender. Gives them power over the Chiefs.

The Bills? Come on Tony. I'd keep him if he wanted to go to the Bills. I hope we get something worked out with the Giants so Tony can get his Lombardi. I love the guy, I wanna see him win one. The Bills won't offer that chance.

Bills are a contender for the playoffs but not the SB.

Well, the Bills may make the playoff's, so that is a contender to TG.

ChiefsCountry 10-12-2008 09:57 PM

3rd and 6th would be about right for him.

He's been around KC long enough to realize the difference. fuck, I'd rather be traded to the Jags, Cardinals if I had a choice between the three.

The Bad Guy 10-12-2008 09:58 PM

I'm sure Gonzo gave Carl an approved list of teams before Carl agreed on anything.

Let him go to the Bills.

morphius 10-12-2008 09:59 PM

If this really happened, I can't even imagine how painful the rest of the season is going to be to watch. Luckily only half will be on TV.

GoTrav 10-12-2008 10:04 PM

Don't get me wrong, I like what the Bills are building but this wasn't the last piece they were looking for to bring them into the top tier. It made a hell of a lot more sense for the Giants to get something like this done than it did for the Bills.

It would be ironic if there was some sort of little-known TE record that he coudl break on that day.

Hammock Parties 10-12-2008 10:05 PM

I don't think this one has legs, guys.

Mecca 10-12-2008 10:06 PM

Actually TE is one of the last pieces the Bills really need......the Giants haven't lost a game they probably don't think they really need him.

The addition of Tony Gonzalez will do little for that team, IMO. A tight end, like Mecca and Milkman (god damnit), is more of a luxury item than a necessity for a winner.

yeah, adding a receiving threat to their offense where they have a void right now, a hall of famer who is still one of the better players at his position in the league, someone who creates matchup problems, that's just window dressing.

It would mean the same thing for the friggin' Giants then...Kevin Boss = Robert Royal...

Royal is actually a pretty decent TE.

Incorporating Gonzalez into their run heavy offense isn't as easy as it sounds...at this point, for teams interested in acquiring Gonzalez, he's a luxury item, not a necessity.

Buffalo sounds better than KC...I think Gonzalez is just ready to GTFO...Buffalo, Arizona, friggin' anywhere but KC.

Most importantly, this might improve Trent Edward's fantasy value. Those in smaller leagues, man the waiver wire.

BigChiefFan 10-12-2008 10:16 PM

Actually, we want him to go to a contender who likely will sputter-that's a better pick for us. The Bills could go 9-7 and still make the playoffs.

Yuck.

I think the Bills are a decent team, but I don't think they will win more than 10 games.

They are going to lose 3 games they shouldn't lose, I guarantee you that, that's the kind of team they have been this year so far, except the bounces have pretty much all gone their way.

Right now, I don't know who I'd put as the favorite in that division...I could see Miami, New York, New England and Buffalo all winning that division...and I say the winner has no more than 11 wins. Right now I peg that division winner to have 10 wins.

All I have to say is...Trent Edwards is injury prone, J.P. isn't very good, so you'd almost have to give Brett Favre and the Jets the nod as of right now.

Sirius: Gonzalez trade pending

According to Sirius the Chiefs have a pending trade with an undisclosed team said to be either the Eagles, Giants or Bills. The compensation is thought to be a 3rd round pick. Trade will be announced in detail by Tuesdays deadline. It is a source very close to the team Sirius went on to report.

fuck, most anyone here could have identified any number of people on the Chiefs squad that didn't fit into the current movement. Tony would have been a perfect fit for Pats, Giants.
