Colorado Camping
For anyone that might know the area, I'm looking for recommendations around Deckers/Buffalo Creek. Can't get our normal spot so we would like to try something else in the area. Don't need all the amenities, just want a campground up in the mountains.
TIA |
Just go to Estes.

watch your cornhole bud.
BTW, I heard Clay loves camping; better make sure he's not in the same state at the time. |
dont use a campground. just start walking and set up when you find a flat area
|
I've never camped in the area (we camp near Aspen and Jefferson), but if you do find one, definitely do the hike up to Devil's Head.
Edit: here you go... http://campincolorado.com/federal/pi...ils%20head.htm |
Sorry, can't help you much with that one. I generally float around and don't go to the same area twice, so I only have very basic experiences with different areas, and I haven't done much at all in the southern area of the state.

I'm going to give an appropriate response for the information provided:
Find trees, set up tent. Why would you continually go to the same spot? I've camped probably 100+ times in CO and rarely ever go to the same place twice. Now if you provide more info, I can be of more assistance. |
Oh, I forgot one thing. Rampart Range Road is notoriously filled with dirt bike and ATV riders trails.

Visit a Colorado physician first. Makes camping better. Much better.

Eleven Mile Canyon. Its a little south of Decker but totally awesome. You will thank me if you go it there.
