I know. But I will make up for it on the Plaza tomorrow night.

If you do decide on Flatbranch, give the Oil Change stout a try; good stuff.

Stay away from any sizeable amount of the pepper beer. It's a fun thing to try as swig of, but even a pint is way too much.

That does sound good. As does the Poor Richard and the Scottish Ale.... I can see moderation slowly slipping away as I type this. :shake:

The bartenders are normally pretty cool about letting you sample, if you're sitting at the bar and drinking at least. I'd say it's a good choice.

The Gyro at G&D at stadium and broadway is good. Flatbranch has good food. I haven't been to Booches in 20 years but it used to have pretty good food.

Flatbranch. Always rated #1. Brew their own beer which is always delicious. $4 for 18oz.

Honey Wheat is currently my favorite. If they aren't sold out you can try the green chili beer. It is interesting.

edit: Upon reading a bit, I see Flatbranch has been recommended several times. So go there. I'll meet you there and by you a beer (I probably won't).

Of the BBQ places in town not sure why people don't like Buckinghams...when I lived there it wasn't all that bad.

But most of the places I would suggest have already been mentioned.

I suspect that since you are picking up a AR you are going to Black Rifle. Most of the places already mentioned are good suggestions but not near BR. There is a Mexican joint on Rangeline about 2 miles north of BR called Agave that is pretty good. A little further north is the 63 Diner which is hit and miss lately but kind of a cool 50's atmosphere (no alcoholic beverages).

Booche's on 9th for slider burgers and atmosphere. The chili is good too. Sub shop makes the best subs, like Planet Sub in KC only better. Nobody makes a better pizza than Shakespeare's. If you go to Boonville, you can go to Glenn's Cafe for cajun food. It's in the old Frederick Hotel by the Missouri River. Yummy.

Heck I forgot about Mugs Up too. Loose meat sandwiches, cheese zip with everything! No booze though.

Let me ask this, is there anyone who interested in meeting up for lunch tomorrow? I don't think I've met any of the Colombia crew before. Hell, I'll even meet CoMo, show him the AR I am going out there to pick up and watch him piss his pants. :D

I might be able to meet you somewhere. Problem is, we're re-doing the kitchen and may end up in Sedalia tomorrow granite shopping, I'm also looking at getting a new fish tank (big ol' 170 gal bow front) and that's going to be an all-day affair if the guy is ready to go tomorrow.

I can PM you my # and when you're ready to eat, lemme know and maybe I'll have decided to be lazy (coming down with a bit of a spring cold so I have an excuse).

That's a new one for me; I'll have to check it out.

Yes, I am going to Black Rifle. I am already making close to a five hour round trip, I don't mind driving a little more if need be.

Works for me.

LOL! It's a local Columbia dive! It is a drive in and looking at it you will be thinking WTF!! But the cheese zip or chili cheese dog are good. It's on the loop behind JJ's, been there for years. Heck I had three cheese zips for dinner tonight.

If someone hasn't said it yet, Flat Branch Brewing Company or The Pear Tree.

Edit; after reading through, I see Flat Branch has been mentioned multiple times. You wont be dissapoint!
