Thankya sir. Updated.

allen_kcCard 05-14-2013 12:49 PM

Aha! Thanks guys, I was completely lost in the other threads trying to figure out who was/wasn't in my league.

Posting over here just to move the discussion from the general Sandbox thread:

Holy crap do I have a rebuild to see to. Only 28 total players on my roster that appeared in more than 10 games in 2012.

Still trying to decide on how to handle reworking the roster, but if anyone that could use Ed Reed (16 games) can make a good offer I'll listen.

And I saw Duluth's posted interest in Mr. Reed. I'll start thinking of good ideas for an offer as well. You thinking player/draft pick/or all of the above as an option?

We are an empty slate and open to all options. This is what we mentioned earlier as being on the trading block in Duluth, but our ears are always open.

We have available a good guard in Kory Lichtensteiger (16 games), a good MLB in Demeco Ryans (16 games), a part-time MLB in Ray Lewis (6 games), a starting QB in Ryan Fitzpatrick (16 games), a rising young TE in Rob Housler (15 games), and good receivers in Hakeem Nicks (13 games), Desean Jackson (11 games), and Harry Douglas (15 games).

Duluth is looking for long-term answers at CB, HB, and RT, and short-term answers (i.e., cheap) at C and DE.

allen_kcCard 05-14-2013 01:58 PM

Wish I wouldn't have cleared all of those completed trades from before to try to figure out a least gross estimates on trade values. Is Stafford for the #30 overall the type of market setting trade that we should go for? A lot more in depth than fantasy football trades.

Rain Man 05-14-2013 02:01 PM

Personally, I think getting Stafford for the #30 is a good deal, but then again I have yet to field a team with a decent quarterback.

allen_kcCard 05-14-2013 02:09 PM

I was trying to look through some of the games I found from last season, but it is really hard to tell what all is going on, and how having a poor FS would affect things if it gets you a G or something else. It is nuts how we have the 8 less teams than the NFL, with 53 man rosters, but then we have rosters that have holes bigger than John Holmes favorite F-buddy.

DJ's left nut 05-14-2013 02:10 PM

I thought getting Stafford for a #30 was a steal, personally.

I know we had a guy offering around the 15th for a QB, I'm not sure why the person that traded Stafford didn't go to him first. Even then, getting a guy a season removed from one of the most prolific statistical seasons in history (which is all that matters in this league) for even a 15 would've been a bargain.

If you are setting your bar at 'late first rounder for 5K yard passer', I think you're going to be pretty disappointed.

allen_kcCard 05-14-2013 02:17 PM

I think I need to change my approach some and not try to fill my worst holes right NOW...need to keep in mind that there is the rookie draft to get some players that I know will play, plus some more that are young and might play more soon....not to mention the free agents that we will either draft or sign with whatever it is that is still in the works for that.

I was ready to start moving guys like Reed and Vick to try to reload as much of the roster as possible, but I think I'll tap the breaks on that some and see what comes from the draft/s.

sfchief 05-14-2013 03:16 PM

moving to 4-3 and I have some good 3-4 ends and OLBs
looking for 4-3 LBs and a QB
All trades welcome!

The goal of the simulation is to capture the contributions of these players in as realistic manner as possible. Let's say you have guard A and guard B. Guard A is known as a good pass protector and average run blocker, while guard B is a good run blocker and average pass protector. If you replace guard A with guard B with all other aspects being equal, over the course of a season you'd expect a slight decrease in passing efficiency and a slight increase in run efficiency. Every player contributes to the success or failure of your team. I'm not sure how even I would value a guard compared to a FS. Just think about your knowledge of the NFL and make your best judgement, and put as many good players on the field as possible.

Aaron Rodgers is already in an alcohol induced coma. And he did it off the good scotch and not the well whiskey that he'd bought to dull the pain of what was sure to be some rocky Sundays.

He just picked up a legitimate starting LT and LG in the span of 15 minutes after spending the entire offseason wondering how the hell he would survive the season behind an interior line manned by Lee Ziemba and Reggie Wells...on a good day. Not to mention no real RT.

Have a drink, Aaron. You've earned it. And while I don't love giving up a 2nd, getting the first pick in the 3rd round on the DRC deal sure made it more palatable.

I'm much happier about the team's standing heading into the draft now. I can actually let the board come to me a little at this point.

Tell him I've got a couple of offers headed his way.

It's pretty incredible. That said, having all those RBs forced him to throw in a 3rd rounder to get Leonard Hankerson from me since he had literally one active WR on his entire roster and is clearly going to take Luck with the first overall.

I'm going to be starting Isaac Redman next year and tried to get Gore out of him for a song w/ the ol' "c'mon, he's your 3rd RB" play...it didn't work. He told me he was sure he could get a better return and I'm sure he's right.

So hey, if you guys could just not offer him anything so I can get Gore for a backup....ah hell, who am I kidding, I don't have any backups on this team...but I'd get him for a nice price if you fellas could just not offer him anything.

After perusing the roster of my newly acquired Overland Park Chiefs, whomever drafted this debacle should be beat with a hammer. Will likely have some trade offers to send as soon as I officially gain access to the team.

Clearwater won the SB last year and has done nothing but improve w/ the addition of 40% of a starting O-Line and the continued development of Dez Bryant.

If Gore stepped in for MJD, this team would be a significantly better team than last year's champions.

I'd say 'win now' qualifies for Clearwater.

Recall that Frank scored a 6 on the Wonderlic. But we love him here in Duluth.

I'm realizing that there's a reason that Portland is drafting #1. They had three top running backs and not much else. He's got a rebuilding job there, too.

I thought that was Billay's team - I know I traded Shockey to that squad for Burnett.

Trade offer made. I'd also take either Flowers or Winfield instead of the pick if you'd prefer.

Reminder: players are only available for games where they played (or were healthy to play) in real life. So when you say that you have CBs available, click on them to see how many games they appeared in. You may not have quite the surplus that you think.

Yeah. I don't remember the exact start-stop times but it the people who go on the clock after a certain time don't have their clock expire until morning. Of course auto pick can keep things moving while you're asleep.

rageeumr 05-15-2013 09:11 PM

I finally got a chance to review my roster.

I've got 2 pretty decent 3-4 DEs (Darnell Dockett and Muhammad Wilkerson) that I'd like to move for 4-3 DTs. I played them at 4-3 DT my first season, but I'd like to get a couple of guys that fit the system better.

Other things I would possibly consider for those guys: G, WR, 4-3 DE, Any 4-3 LB, CB, depth at T

Ryan Mathews is on the block if anybody needs help at RB

If you want to roll the dice on Matt Flynn, he's available as well.

Edit: My team is the Provo Knuckledraggers

My mistake.

He does have more value than a Barry Richardson level RT, though. LMAO

If someone needs a one-year starter for that championship run, I have Harvard-educated Ryan Fitzpatrick on the block. He's the quarterback you want your daughter to marry.

Now there's some truefannage for you...

3 moves, all done in the name of firming up the OL. Have another drink, Rodgers. You're going to have a world of time next year. Damn shame you'll only have Harvin for 9 weeks...

Additionally, I'm willing to put my 1st round pick next year on the block for a 2nd round pick this year. I'm not sure I'll pull the trigger on until the spot comes up in the order, but if anyone's interested in the 2nd round and don't see a player they want on the board, shoot me an offer, I'll give it a look and see if I see anyone I like.

Hmm. I'll keep my eyes open on this one. The Frank Gore trade pretty much sealed my Super Bowl win, so I don't really need any more players this year.

Probably still a no on Polumbus, eh?

I'm going to end up paying him at guard now and I figure he'll be adequate there but I'd rather do the same thing I did with Cherilus and trade him for the position I really want. your alternative seems to be using a first on a RT there or using beadles and I'll very the games algorithm beats you up pretty badly for playing a guard at tackle.

You pretty much seem to hate him, so I doubt it, but I figured I'd ask.

I'm probably going to wind up drafting a RT, yes.

Or who knows, aren't we having FA?

I can offer 12 game starter (and 0.1 rated on PFF!) Winston Justice. Looking for G, DT, DE, LB, CB, WR

Okay everyone, we're getting ready to start. Keep your League 1 discussions here instead of in the main thread, so we don't have any confusion between the leagues.

As a note, I may reserve the right to intervene as an administrator if I see someone missing picks. In that case I'll give them one of the top three picks still eligible from the NFL draft.
