Worst NFL regular season collapses
I feared we would make this list this season. All of these teams missed the playoffs
1995 Raiders: Start 8-2. Finish 8-8 1987 Chargers: Start 8-1. Finish 8-7 (strike shortened). 2009 Broncos: Start 6-0. Finish 8-8 1994 Eagles: Start 7-2. Finish 7-9 (ouch) 2006 Broncos: Start 7-2. Finish 9-7 1993 Dolphins: Start 9-2. Finish 9-7 2003 Vikings: Start 6-0. Finish 9-7 Which was the worst? |

2003 Vikings Minnesota couldn’t have asked for a better start to the 2003 season. The Vikings opened with six straight wins, including four by double digits and they beat all three NFC North opponents, including two on the road. However, the defense allowed 450 or more yards in three straight losses, and the offense committed six turnovers in a loss at Oakland as the Vikings’ record dropped to 6-4. After a win over Detroit, the Vikings were crushed 48-17 by the Rams. Minnesota won two of the next three games and seemed to have the North sewn up as it took a big lead at Arizona. However, Cardinals quarterback Josh McCown threw a pair of touchdown passes in the last 1:54 of the game, including one on the final play as Arizona stunned Minnesota 18-17. |
I remember that Minny-AZ game. I had the clip of Paul Allen yelling NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and played it over and over again for the Vikes fans.

Some strong AFCW representation on there. Very glad we didn't join that list.

It was uneasy thinking we would be one of those teams but there's just too much talent for that to have happened. Smith absolutely owns this division and the streak would be longer had the raiders not have received every opportunity to win at home on Thursday night.
I hope teams fall asleep on us not realizing most of our losses were 7 points or less and we have one of the strongest strength of victories in the league. |

Those 95 raiders, super hot start after coming back to oakland, then just fizzled the **** out lol
|
The losing streak will just make for interesting viewing on "America's Game: The 2017 Chiefs".

The 2012 Cardinals were also 4-0, but finished 5-11. I didn't put them in since it was clear they were never a good team, even at 4-0. The best collapses are "good" teams that win 7 or more games but manage to choke it away |
How about the 2016 Vikings, started out 5-0 then lost 6 of 7, ended up 8-8.
|
2015 Falcons also started 5-0 and finished 8-8
|
Am I remembering right That the Raiders swept the AFC West and didn't make the playoffs?
