Official Sporting Kansas City 2014 Playoff Thread
Sporting Kansas City has their first 2014 playoff game tonight at 7 on ESPN2 against New York.
This could be a small and short lived thread. SKC has had a terrible season of injuries and call ups and bad luck. They are literally limping into the playoffs and could be put out of their misery soon. Orrrrrr they could beat NY and make a run. http://i.imgur.com/yZ72Tb8.jpg |
I'm sure you've already figured this out -
But just in case. no1curr |
Speaking of that even though the game went poorly it was an impressive seen this past Sunday. On the same day the Chiefs played at home and the same exact time the Royals played in a World Series game Sporting Park was sold out and packed standing room only for their regular season game. Was a pm awesome sight.

We're back in the playoffs!

I'm not going to be upset if/when they lose tonight. If you told me a year ago that SKC could win a championship but the trade-off is that the following season is ridiculously riddled with injuries & even then is marred by the team not being able to replace the key cog of your system, whom you will sell overseas...I'd take that trade without a second's hesitation.
If this team doesn't have a run in them, then I'll be looking forward to seeing how they heal & re-tool for next year. |
nb4 soccer isn't a real sport.

You wanna' talk about "parity" in a league? I've been learning this year what it takes to keep an MLS team together throughout a season and it's no joke.
It's a whole different world, and a guy like Peterson would last about two seconds in it. Anyway, be Sporting! |
Great energy at half. Much better showing than I thought it might be. Lots of chances both ways so it is wide open.

This new thing where Collin uses someone else as a human shield on corners is hilarious.

I turn on the game by accident, and 20 seconds later they tie us
