I bet most of this week is walk throughs or very light practice.

DTVietnam 12-10-2018 08:51 PM

The Associated Press' Joe Reedy considers Austin Ekeler (neck) "extremely doubtful" for Thursday night's Week 15 game against the Chiefs.

The L.A. Times' Jeff Miller adds Ekeler is "very stiff" on Monday and can barely move his head after aggravating his injury in Sunday's win over the Bengals. Melvin Gordon (knee) is said to be eyeing a Week 15 return, but who knows if that'll happen on a short week. If both sit, Justin Jackson would be the Chargers' lead dog in w

He got tired of people doubting him so he had to fake an injury.

Yeah that's what I thought happened when he grabbed at his neck/shoulder area. But his arm wasn't just dangling when he walked back to the bench so I assumed he was ok for the most part.

Yeah I'm not too concerned, considering the short week. I would guess that at minimum, Hill will play, even if he doesn't practice this week.

But we can all cry and shit our diapies over "day to day" if that's what you all want to do in every single thread that mentions injuries

Chief Northman 12-10-2018 09:17 PM

I figure Watkins and Erving don’t play.

Ware with a hamstring injury may not practice all week and the severity of the injury will determine if he suits up. I bet Hill plays.

My money is on Berry being MIA yet again.

This has been studied and there is zero correlation between TNF and increased injuries.

https://www.footballoutsiders.com/st...-more-injuries

Last year was the first year they measured a slight increase on TNF compared to regular Sunday and Monday games but it was slight and only that season.

Does playing on 4 days rest effect the quality of play on the field? That seems unquestionable.

The team can't risk Mahomes taking 15 knockdowns a game. Way too dangerous. Andy has to mix it up a little more. More runs, more quick passes.

I agree..Pat seems a bit more skittish back there..holding on to the ball a little longer. Earlier in the year the ball was out ALOT quicker. I would like to see him go back to quicker reads. Utilize the slants with Kelce more to minimize the hits he's been taking.

Baltimore not only has bad ass dudes on defense, they have probably the most creative defensive looks in the league and attack the QB like no other.

We ain’t gonna see a defense like this unless we play the Ravens again. The closest is Seattle’s, but their personnel isn’t as good overall. They have a secondary that can be taken advantage of by a guy like Mahomes.

Whew. It's good that they're out.

FloridaMan88 12-11-2018 09:01 AM

Play everyone who isn't in a full body cast and treat Thursday as a must win.

A win on Thursday + a Patriots loss/tie on Sunday and the Chiefs clinch the #1 seed.

That essentially gives the Chiefs three weeks until the Divisional Round of the playoffs to be conservative with managing injured players.

Not yet. But, they need to probably win out. I doubt a 9-7 team makes the playoffs in the AFC (probably would win the NFC East, though).

I do not care about the safety of the players. The NFL should just have them sign waivers. List out every possible risk you can think of. If they want to play, sign it. If not, go become an accountant. Play good football.

I completely agree with this and if the league wants to keep doing games over seas, this would be the schedule spot for those games. Bye week, long travel to foreign lands, long week to come back and go back to the normal routine.

They do sign a waiver like that. That is why the issue was not that hits and concussions cause CTE, but rather that the NFL knew that and covered it up. That makes the actions of the NFL malicious, and not simply gross negligence.

Intentional torts are not held subject to exculpatory clauses, only negligence.

You want to go backwards? Going to have to stop being a fan. Ratings are up. Highest ratings in years across the board. The verdict is in, the public likes the offense. Sports change over the years. The publics taste in sports change.

The NFL doesn't change to what the fans want, they will get left behind like baseball. Fans of the local teams but don't watch a game in the other league on a regular basis.

Despite concerns that a foot injury suffered on Sunday could keep him out of Thursday night’s big AFC West showdown with the Chargers, Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill appears good to go.

Hill was on the practice field today, and Michele Steele of ESPN reports that Hill was running and cutting and looks fine.

That matches what Chiefs coach Andy Reid indicated on Monday, when he predicted that Hill will play against the Chargers.

It’s a very big game for the Chiefs on Thursday, who clinch the AFC West with a win and would be overwhelming favorites to earn home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. If the Chargers win, however, L.A. will move into a tie for first place in the division with two games to go. (The Chiefs would still own the tiebreaker edge based on their better division record.)

The Chiefs have had a lot of players banged up, but Hill, perhaps their most important player after Patrick Mahomes, appears to be just fine.

O.city 12-11-2018 02:38 PM

I'm talking about moving forward. As CTE is now a known issue, its a risk you decide to accept or not. Completely understand suits or the frustrations of old players though.

There is a vast difference between a good defense shutting down a good offense ala the Bears/Rams, and an okay defense shutting down a bad offense Seattle/Vikings last night.

No, but I was more concerned about his body language after the missed FG's than the actual kicks themselves.

Dude is struggling mentally right now and just doesn't look very confident.

Just because they sign a waiver like that doesn't mean it would hold up in court. Actually that waiver would work against the NFL in court more than it would for them.
