He is the worst as well as far as coming up to get balls on swinging in passes or just balls rolling towards his area. Besler and Collin have to haul ass to get back and kick the ball out for a corner all the time.

Thanks for the feedback. I sit and watch these games with my buddies and we dream of what an incredible squad this would be if we had Sean Johnson, Tally Hall, fill in the blank....

Sean Johnson has let in some shit goals, but that one game against SKC last year he was in beastmode.

I've only been watching soccer for about two years, but for some reason I tend to pick out a single player and watch their positioning during the game. That being said, every time we give up a breakaway goal, which is often, Colin seems to always be out of position. It seems he is always moving up to attack at the exact wrong time, leaving everyone else exposed. Maybe it is Colin, maybe it is the scheme bringing him forward. Either way, it's causing problems.

As for Nielsen, I can't really tell if he is losing a step or what, but it seems the defense doesn't always put him in the best positions.

The latest FIFA Rankings were released yesterday.

I'll go ahead and list some of the interesting or relevant rankings.

1. Spain - Same as before
2. Germany - Same as before
3. Columbia - Moved up 4 spots from last month, I didnt even realise they were this good.
9. Brazil - It was only a matter of time before they moved back up. Theyre up 13 spots from last month.
15. England - Down 6 spots from last month.
22. USA - Up 6 spots from last month, making a strong push going into the world cup.
40. Australia - Up 7 spots from last month. Still a shame they're this low IMO. Back in 2009 we were up around #14.

When you have Guarin, Falcao and Muriel, you're going to have yourself a pretty damn good team.

I think realistically, though, Colombia is more like the 11th best team in the world or something like that.

This is going to be one of the better World Cups since 1998, IMO. There are a lot of really good teams full of amazing talent for us to enjoy, more so than usual.

Yeah, realistically I don't think they're anywhere near the top 3, but none-the-less, they're much better then I realised.

God, they are both so adorable. My two favorites along with Collin. Kudos to the Royals for the support they've given Sporting.

Right down the ****ing pipe, too. Well done, Beez.

Old Dog 07-07-2013 02:03 PM

SKC up 2-1 over Chicago at the half. This is one of the first games I've been able to catch on the tube. Most aren't televised (at least for me...I don't follow closely enough to have a "soccer" channel)

Demonpenz 07-07-2013 03:23 PM

Kei...Zusi...played well. Saad sucked. Nice saves by Nielson.

Sporting KC loans C.J. Sapong and Kevin Ellis to USL PRO affiliate Orlando City Soccer Club

Sporting Kansas City announced on Thursday that the club has agreed to loan forward C.J. Sapong and defender Kevin Ellis to the team's official USL PRO affiliate Orlando City Soccer Club. The duo will join goalkeeper Jon Kempin and midfielder Christian Duke in Orlando today ahead of the Lions home match against the Charleston Battery tonight.

"This is a good opportunity for C.J. (Sapong) and Kevin (Ellis) to play in competitive games," Sporting KC Manager Peter Vermes said. "We will continue to re-evaluate and manage all of the guys on our roster, to maximize team and individual performance and growth. There is no set timeline for how long our players will be in Orlando, but this is precisely why we were so excited to enter into this agreement with Orlando City SC to get our players matches."

Sporting Kansas City entered into a two-year agreement with Orlando City SC in January in conjunction with Major League Soccer and USL PRO's new multi-year partnership. Manager Adrian Heath, the USL PRO's Coach of the Year each of the past two seasons, has Orlando City in first place with 10 games remaining as the club seeks to claim the Commissioner's Cup for a third straight campaign.

Sapong, 24, has one goal and one assist for Sporting KC on the year. The James Madison University product recorded five goals and five assists in 2011 to earn MLS Rookie of the Year honors and an invitation to the U.S. Men's National Team for appearances in two international friendlies. In 2012, Sapong was Sporting KC's second-leading scorer with nine goals while adding two assists. He has also contributed five goals and two assists in U.S. Open Cup competition in his career.

Ellis, 22, is also in his third professional season after signing as the club's second Homegrown Player in 2011. The Sporting KC Academy product made his MLS debut in a 3-2 win over Columbus at Sporting Park last month and earned his first MLS start four days later in a 1-1 draw against Vancouver. Ellis also made two career appearances in U.S. Open Cup competition, including Sporting Kansas City's fourth round match-up with Orlando City SC during this year's tournament.

Sporting Kansas City will have the option to recall any of the team's four players during the loan period. Forward Dom Dwyer has appeared in each of Sporting Kansas City's last three MLS matches after being recalled from Orlando City SC, where he scored a USL PRO-record 15 goals in 13 games this season.

Transaction: Sporting Kansas City (MLS) agrees to loan forward C.J. Sapong and defender Kevin Ellis to Orlando City Soccer Club (USL PRO).
