I trimmed down to a goat a month or so ago after 2 years or so with a full beard. Just need a change now and then. But by trimmed I mean I took the attachment for beards off my trimmer... so I'm 5 o'clock shadow with a goat. I hate my face shaved smooth. Hate it with a passion.

Lost my mom suddenly in 96. Wish I had spent a little more time with her. This sounds like a GREAT option, one that both of you would enjoy. You could still get out and do a few things while you were there and have a few meals and conversations with mom. Go for it dude!!
