He sees DAT and then pulls it down.

No confidence to make that throw.

Robinson is open underneath too.

His arm is shot; I don't think he trusts it to be on target across his body further than 15~ yards from him to the receiver on a good day.

I'd like to watch the next Chiefs game with that skycam TNF camera angle. Maybe one day we'll have the option for each game to choose the camera we want to see from.

Just make sure it's after Alex leaves. Tv's can get expensive.

One thing we can take away from this:

Andy Reid calls a shit ton of deep routes. It's not debateable anymore.

Everytime Alex gets Gif'd up you'll find receivers running vertical routes.

This "Andy limits Alex/This offense with his dink and dunk playcalling" can DIAF now.

Mahomes wasn't ready week 1 and it would have been assinine to start him in New England his first game.

He's ready now though, or at least he has to be. 11 weeks is a long time to learn the playbook.

Kelce also had a wide open DAT on his throw. Guess Alex didn't properly teach him how to check down. :shake:

Agreed. I've been waiting for the right post to mention that, but i think his arm looks tired and weak.

That ball isn't coming out the way it was week 1. Really makes you wonder about that surgically repaired shoulder.

I said it earlier but I think that first short throw to Kelce killed any confidence he had in his arm.

Seven? He was ass against Pitt.

Pitt broke him in the playoffs, he healed a little bit, and then they broke him for good.

Timing and understanding what the receivers are going to do based on the defense is the bigger problem and the reason you *have* to stick with Smith.

However I distinctly recall a horseshit simplified offense led by Tim Tebow being able to confound a decent defense in a do-or-die divisional road game that wound up being decisive for the Broncos getting into the playoffs in 2011.

Mahomes is clearly a better passer than Tebow; Reid is ostensibly a better head coach than John Fox and a better offensive game planner than Mike McCoy: he should be able to devise a simplified playbook that allows for success for a QB throwing the ball more than 10 times in a game.

That's what I'm thinking... enough of this 'Andy and Alex hold our offense back'. No, it's clear. Every time the offense sucks, it's Alex holding it back by not attempting NFL throws. Plain and simple.

They're running routes to "keep the defense honest."

If you can find plays where Smith is looking downfield but opts for the shorter routes, then you'd have some semblance of proof that Reid's gameplan is being torpedoed by Smith.

Every time he elects to check down or ducks his head and runs when someone is open down field, he is hurting the offense. He's been doing that a lot.
