Please answer my question, and I'll answer yours.

Fair enough. The twins are boys but I get your point. Admittedly, the pot shop would not be my first choice when deciding where to post up and sell GS cookies. That being said, if they if they came to me and said "daddy, Sarah and Amy are making a killing selling cookies at the smoke and chill shop across the street from the Starbucks on 1st street. I really wanna win the cool prize for top cookie seller! Can we post up at the chill and smoke shop across the street from mcdonalds on 2nd street? I can honestly say I would say yes, assuming it was legal and their mother said it was ok. She tends to care about people's opinions or perceptions more than I. If she said no, I wouldn't fight her. I know who bakes my bread.

Thanks. The part I bolded is very different that what you posted above, and I appreciate you doing so. I think it's a pretty commonly-held view.

As to alcohol and myself, yes, I like a beer or glass of wine from time to time. Yes, my kids have seen me watching a game and having a beer.

you have exposed your kids to a dangerous drug. That is very different than what you posted before. Shall we both eat a bit of crow? I do still stand by my statement that there is no harm in exposing youth to the completely normal folks at a legal pot shop. The pot shop in Cali or Colorado is in a strip mall next to Starbucks whereas the potshop in my town or yours is a drug dealers house.

Whatever. If her MOM was cool with it, whatever.

I don't have the time to raise everyone else's kids. If a 3rd party was taking troops of kids to a dope shop I'd say that's wrong... but a parent watching her kid like a hawk?

Hell, she could make an educational experience of it. Some of you want to shelter kids too much.

No, it isn't very different. I wouldn't be okay with GS selling cookies outside a liquor store, either, as I've said. You might note the difference between what happens in a private home and the general public.

Meh. Whatever. Kids are a product of the environment they were raised in, not a product of that one time they sold cookies at smokers choice. The liquor store in my neighborhood is next to a Quiznos and a tanning bed, behind a Starbucks, and across the parking lot from the grocery store. The same people in the grocery store and dry cleaners are in the liquor store. If my kid was gonna sell more cookies they could sell em there if they wanted, though a pot shop seems like a better option. Also, the same people in the grocery store and tanning bed are the same people in a legal pot shop. You never answered my question, though. You never dug a little deeper. What are you scared of? What is the underlying motivation? Exposure to dangerous drugs has already been crossed off of the list.

What is my motivation for trying to keep my kids ignorant of yet another legal drug for as long as possible?

I'd like to think because I'm a good parent who wants to protect his children for as long as he can. For the same reason why I voted against this in Colorado. I didn't want to see the legalization of yet another drug and I figured that things like this would happen when it was legalized.

You think that it's good idea to teach six year old kids about pot? If that's true, sure, we vehemently disagree and I'm perfectly fine with that.

Why not?

The Girl Scouts of America teach those same girls about abortion and lesbianism...

So you'd rather give "stoners" your phone number and address so they would know where you live and can come knocking on your door for cookies? Brilliant business decision.

Not everyone that comes out of a medicinal marijuana facility is some drug addicted crack head. It's not like these guys are going to randomly come over at 2am demanding cookies when they're high. LMAO
