His other movie looks pretty awesome too. Don't discount him. Usually actors his age go on a streak like this before they retire or direct exclusively. Enjoy them.

For me, i just know too much about this guy by now, he has no aura anymore.

He's five feet nothing and overexposed as a giant flake.

Ive read it has the feel of a 70s or 80s low tech crime thriller. count me in.

Saw this tonight. Really, really good. Yea, it did remind me a lot of a 70s Dirty Harry type of flick or something Eastwood would have made in his heyday. The bad guys were really nasty and fun as well. Werner Herzog was great.

Highly recommended

I thought he played Reacher very well. If only he wasn't 5 foot nothing

The wife and I enjoyed it. And I thought Cruise was believable. Can't see how his height has anything to do with the role.

In the books Reacher is supposed to be a very physically intimidating presence. Cruise does not have that IMO

Don't think so.

I think I appreciated how low tech it was. No noticeable CGI, and all the stunts and action beats were fairly realistic. Cruise and the bad guy even stopped and got tired during the final fight.

Agreed.

And having not read the books, I didn't really have any problem believing Cruise as this force.

If you aren't 6 ft tall you can't intimidate ppl, didn't you know that?

Jack Reacher (as written) is a no nonsensem 6'5" 260lb man. I haven't seen the movie yet, but that is why book fans are panning Cruise.

It would be like casting the Rock as Sherlock Holmes.

Wasn't a bad flick. Less action film than it was a John Grisham style film.
