Samsung Galaxy Note Pro

Looking to get a tablet for work mainly. Mostly crop scouting and mobile app usage and document access/usage from my pickup/tractor in bum**** nowhere. I'm with Verizon.

Logical choice is iPad since I have an iPhone. But it seems to me like apple is getting pretty stagnant. I'd like to get into the android systems and it seems to me like a tablet is the best way to do it. If I hate it, at least it won't be my primary device.

Dad has a Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 and I really like it the little bit I've used it. I wanted to get one like his so I could help him when he needed it. Unfortunately Verizon doesn't carry it.

I see Verizon carries the Galaxy Note Pro. I like what I've seen from it, but goddamn it is expensive. My question to the badassery that is the CP brain trust, "is it worth it?"

What have you all heard about it?

I have the old Galaxy Note and like it.

Don't buy the Verizon tablet. You will have to purchase a seperate data plan.

Hotspot your phone and use it's data plan instead.

That's a freaking brilliant idea. Why on earth did I not think of that? I guess I haven't had those phone long and my prior one didn't have it.

Good idea though.

Hopefully Verizon allows it. My United Iphone does, and I use it all of the time.

iPhone 5 does. I presume it works. Haven't used it.

I almost bought one this weekend. Planning on that for my next tablet to replace my ancient Moto Xoom v1.

I purchased the note 3 tablet last year and love it. It's the 10 inch screen. It came with photoshop and other cool apps. My only complaint is the its not 1080i..but the battery. The battery last for days and it's pretty powerful.

Mother bitches. Mobile hotspot isn't available with my current plan. I'd have to change plans.

****ing whores.

Or get an app for that. There are apps that circumvent the Verizon hotspot plan.

Do you have a name for such an app for iPhone?

Yeah, they exist. But service providers are smart enough to know when you're doing it unauthorized. I've had many friends try that, only to have their provider send them a message saying "Your data usage shows that you're tethering. Pay for tethering, or we're going to cancel your plan."

You can get away with it for a while if you use it very sparingly. But if you expect to tether all the time and not get caught, you're in for a rude awakening...

EDIT: Plus, most free tethering apps require jailbreak. If your iPhone isn't jailbroken, it's a pain in the ass process: http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/48837...m#.U0Qaea1dVig

I use droid. However, I would assume there is an equivalent option for an iphone, assuming you jailbreak it.
