Eh...finally took a shot at putting my own mock up. I obviously would be more than pleased with this draft...

Much of the same stuff we have been seeing...with a twist.

1. Extend Alex Smith and Eric Berry 6 years.

2. Restructure Dwayne Bowe and Tamba Hali's contracts.

4. Sign Geoff Schwartz and Hussain Abdullah.

5. Re-sign Thomas Gafford.

6. Bye-bye: WR Dexter McCluster, WR Kyle Williams, OT Brandon Albert, OG Jon Asamoah, DE Tyson Jackson, ILB Akeem Jordan, S Kendrick Lewis, S Quentin Demps, OLB Frank Zombo.

7. Cut Dunta Robinson....and Chase Daniels.

8. Sign Nate Allen and Khalif Barnes.

CB JUSTIN GILBERT
OKLAHOMA STATE

•Michigan State's Darqueze Dennard may have earned the Thorpe Award as the nation's top defensive back but Gilbert could get the last laugh when it comes to the NFL.
Given the way that the passing game has taken over the NFL, the value of defenders capable of creating turnovers has never been higher - and no one is better at this than Gilbert - a dynamic athlete who led the Big 12 with seven interceptions in 2013 (two of which he returned for touchdowns) and has returned six kickoffs for scores over his career in Stillwater, as well. That mark put him just one kickoff return touchdown shy of the NCAA career record of seven, held jointly by Clemson's C.J. Spiller (2006-09) and Houston's Tyron Carrier (2008-11).

While scouts will certainly appreciate Gilbert's big play prowess (as well as his size and speed), it is important to recall the struggles with consistency that he suffered through as a junior after a breakout 2011 season.

•Smith served as a moveable chess piece on the Cardinals' defense throughout his career, logging time at every position along the defensive line as well as a stand-up outside linebacker.
Optimists will view him as a hybrid defender capable of finding a niche in any scheme. Others will see Smith as a 'tweener prospect who struggles to handle double-teams at the line and lacks the elite athleticism to develop into an impact playmaker in the NFL.

LSU

•Johnson led LSU with 9 tackles for loss in 2013, his first season as a full-time starter, and finished fifth on the team with three sacks. It speaks to Johnson's immense potential that those numbers were considered slightly disappointing after a sophomore season with 10 tackles-for-loss and three sacks as the third member of the Tigers' tackle rotation.

The 6-foot-3, 294-pound Johnson was a consensus five-star prospect and the No. 1 defensive tackle in the class of 2011 coming out of New Orleans' Perry Walker High School, earning the nickname "Freak" for his quickness and agility.

Graduated in May 2013 with degree in distribution management technology... Last name pronounced NYE-vuhr (like "diver").

WYOMING

•Herron played running back and wide receiver and also starred on the track team in high school - hardly surprising considering his blazing speed.
He arrived at Wyoming in 2010, and split time at receiver and running back, appearing in 10 games and averaging 23.5 yards of offense per game. He had at least six carries in each of the final five games of the season, but transitioned to primarily a wideout in 2011, when he finished second on the team with 43 receptions for 379 yards and three touchdowns.

Herron caught 31 passes for 657 yards as a junior, specializing as a big-play threat. He capped his career with a stellar 2013 season in which he caught 72 passes for 937 yards and nine touchdowns to ear All-Mountain West honorable mention honors.

He closed his career with 2,030 receiving yards, eighth-most in school history. His 152 career receptions is tied for 10th.

•Now, Aikman is a Hall of Fame quarterback who won three Super Bowls for the Dallas Cowboys; Savage entered his senior season with barely more than a dozen starts under his belt at the collegiate level. The similarities I see between the two aren't so much in their results as they are in the way the QBs carry themselves on the field. Physically, when I see Savage, he reminds me of Aikman. He is well built at 6-foot-3, 245 pounds. He has a very strong arm and above-average accuracy on his throws. He is more of a pocket passer than someone who will beat you with his legs. Not a lot of prospects have the combination of size, arm strength, and passing ability that I see in Savage. [NFL.com]

I'm not sure I'm taking anyone from Baylor that aren't Seastrunk or a speed WR.

Who would you take at #151 given the scenario I've presented?

I just like Najvar because he is one of those basketball stars converted to TE. And those have been working out pretty well in the NFL thus far...

Never understand why folks here are so easily willing to part with Dex. Dude is an ascending player that can be a game changer in the return game. Also, Reid was able to get 500+ yards from him in year 1 and many of those yards were in clutch situations. Let's wait and see what his demands are before writing him off. Just my take...

Gilbert's not realistic -- he's top 15. Don't like Anthony Johnson. I hate the Najvar pick, and of all the QBs in this draft, you go with the guy from Pitt.
