Chiefs' Mike DeVito willing to join free-agent market
Sorry if it's a repost.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...eeagent-market Chiefs' Mike DeVito willing to join free-agent market Mike DeVito could very well join the free-agent market soon. The versatile veteran defensive end/tackle, who tore his Achilles during a Week 1 matchup against the Titans, will likely be asked to take a pay cut in order to remain on the roster, according to multiple league sources familiar with the situation. DeVito, 30, is scheduled to make $4 million in 2015. But after several inquiries from other clubs at the combine, he might feel like he could get the same on the open market. Before his injury, DeVito was viewed as the No. 7 3-4 defensive end in football, by Pro Football Focus. In 2012, his final year with the Jets, he graded out 12th among ends. With the market for a player at a similar age and position already heating up -- according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, Ricky Jean Francois has visits lined up with the Redskins and 49ers -- a fully healed DeVito may be right to take a calculated gamble, especially with many run defense-needy teams out there with money to spend. |
Well.....bye

Sayonara, don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.
|
Ha, well bye

It's a shame ya got hurt, but Howard outplayed you and it's doubtful you ever return to form worthy of your pay.
Good luck in free agency. It's nice to see Dorsey is trying to pinch pennies everywhere. |
willing to join FA market = knows he's getting cut

Thanks --- and bye

Boss thinks that if DeVito had elite players around him he might have had 32 sacks two years ago
|
But he's our blue collar guy?
|
No ill will towards him. Played well for us, but he gone.
|
Where is Hootie's outrage that the Chiefs would dare ask him to take a paycut?
WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE??? |
outrage?
DeVito should be cut outright. I have no outrage. He's not at the top of the game, he doesn't play QB, and he's not an important player. I think you misunderstood my point. Peyton Manning has a 70% career win % Tom Brady has a 77% career win % this isn't a coincidence these two under contract basically give their team a lock for a division championship they should be paid accordingly Tom, good guy or cheater, circumvent or legit contract, gives the Pats an unfair advantage by playing for Andy Dalton money. It isn't fair to the rest of the NFL that has to pay their elite QB's elite QB money. But I realize CP doesn't understand this because the majority of this website has the football IQ of BossChief's real life IQ ... so it's a lost point. |
Cut Devito. Buh-bye now
