Speaking of rouges capt. Boomerang is part of the flash rouges gallery. He a crook that use gimmicked boomerrang to commit crimes. Also known on the suicide squad as the lazy **** up who always causing misfit but seem to get out of bad situations

Suicide Squad has been slowly gathering pace, with director David Ayer and star Jared Leto happily tweeting pictures from the set and so on.

Although Jake Gyllenhaal was the frontrunner to replace Tom Hardy, it now appears that Joel Kinnaman is the likely replacement for Hardy's character.

Kinnaman will play Rick Flagg, the hardened ex-soldier and leader of Suicide Squad. Oh, are you out of the loop and who / what Suicide Squad is?

Let's do a quick recap.

Suicide Squad is based on DC Comics' anti-heroes forming together to save the world. Think The Avengers, or the DC counterpart Justice League - except with villains.

The Joker (Jared Leto), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Deadshot (Will Smith), Rick Flagg (was Tom Hardy, now Joel Kinnaman) and Enchantress (Cara Delevigne) are the main players, with government handler Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) being their sort of Nick Fury-type leader.

Again, we know we're using Marvel to compare with, but let's face it - people are more familiar with it than DC counterparts.

Anyway, Kinnaman will be replacing Hardy as Flagg and it now appears that another character will be joining the Squad - Deathstroke.

If you've played Batman: Arkham Origins, you'll know who he is. Or, indeed, if you watched the TV series Arrow, you'll also be familiar with him.

For those that aren't, Deathstroke is basically the most dangerous assassin who's ever lived - and he's got one and two swords. Which is pretty cool, we think.

As for who'll be playing him, it's understood that Magic Mike's Joe Mangianello will be stepping into the role. You may also know him from How I Met Your Mother and the fact that he's married to Sofia Vergara.

So, do we think Mangianello's a good choice? Well, no, to be quite honest.

It strikes us that A LOT of those that have been cast have been picked because they're instantly recognisable. Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie - they're all household names and Ayer is no doubt banking on their starpower to attract the average cinemagoer into watching it.

Hardcore fans will turn up regardless but trying to get the crossover appeal is what Ayer and Warners / DC are after.

Whether it works out or not is another story. Suicide Squad is set for an Irish release date of August 5th, 2016.

Actually looks kind of cool to me...

Quote:

Anyone catch the wing on his shoulder? It's a broken wing. Reference to killing Jason Todd after beating him senseless with a crowbar and blowing him up with his mother. Yes Joker was/is that ruthless.

That's how Leto's Joker strikes me.

The Joker that paralyzed Batgirl, the Joker that was represented in The Killing Joke, the Joker that beat Jason Todd to a bloody pulp and blew him up and his mother. It's THAT Joker I see.

But here is a good breakdown on the tattoo's and the meanings, references to the Joker.

"There is a lot of familiar Joker iconography in the tattoos. Let's break it down a little:
First of all, we have Joker/card-based tattoos. The four of a kind (presumably with a Joker for the fifth card) says "All in" beneath it. The skull-in-a-jester's cap is a popular image in pop culture and with tattoo artists based on a Google Image search, but I don't know of any particular story in which either played a big role for The Joker (although Batman does have that giant Joker card in his cave).
The "Damaged" forehead tattoo seems likely to be a wink and a nod to Charles Manson's face tattoos, given the "Joker's the craziest guy ever" vibe we're getting here and that's been present basically since The Dark Knight Returns popularized the idea of trying to psychoanalyze these characters.
http://media.comicbook.com/uploads1/...ver-133315.jpgThe laughter is familiar enough; again, we get a bit of a callback to that same Bolland image. Beyond that, though, we have two different kinds of laughter scrawled in different tattoos, and the font/handwriting on them don't match what we see in the Bolland image. Rather, they evoke Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on a Serious Earth and Joker, the original graphic novel from Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo.
We also get two different mouths -- one on one of his forearms and the other on his un-gloved hand. It looks like they're different representations of Joker smiles over the years, witht he one on his forearm resembling the smile Jock gave the character during his time drawing Batman and the one on his hand being a little more ragged -- maybe like (again) the Bermejo image at right or even Heath Ledger's The Dark Knight joker. It seems as though this Joker will acknowledge the history and the ever-changing nature of the character a bit.
He's got a trio of unidentifiable tattoos -- one on his bicep, one on his right side wrapping around to his back and one across his belly. It looks to me as though the one on his belly might actually just be a stylized font that says "Joker," but I could easily be wrong there. It's hard to tell what thing on his arm is, other than that it looks like some kind of bird. Maybe the laughing fish, though? And the one on his back looks like at least two words and that what we can see is that the first word ends in "O'S" or "OS" -- I can't tell if that's an apostrophe or just shadow -- and the second word end in "LY." It's underlined hysterically, which makes me think maybe the second word is "only."
There's also a stray "J" on his face that reminds me a bit of a teardrop tattoo and some work around his eyes that makes his face look "cracked" and also makes me wonder whether the dark areas around his eyes are actually tattoos too.
http://comicbook.com/2015/04/25/jared-letos-joker-an-in-depth-look/"

The caps on his teeth strike me as something he'd get after the many times Batman has knocked his teeth out of his mouth (also present in the comics often) but in the comics you can always redraw him with teeth. In actuality it's not so much that way. He looks like a Joker that's been through as many wars with Batman as Batman has been through with him.

I think this Joker is the cold, calculating psychopath. Tattoo's don't make the Joker a prison thug as he's had tattoo's in the comics before and still remained The Joker, and it's been a lot worse in terms of tattoo's than what Leto has

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CDZ380GUUAEkA_T.jpg

So when it comes down to it, I see reference to the Joker from both The Killing Joke, Miller and Jim Lee, as well as the death of Jason Todd. If we're going to get that rolled into one it's gonna be a heck of a performance if Leto can pull it off. So I'm hoping he can. This Joker looks psychotic by every stretch of the word. Smart, but also psychotic.

Also....

here's your nightmare fuel

I am fine with it. There have been tons of versions of the joker.

If they are rolling with him being psychotic and killed robin and others, then go for it. He will be the one on the team everyone has to worry about it. He probably will try to get them killed on purpose. Meaning he has the intel to where they cant kill him.

I still see no way will smith can pull this off..

DC wants a more darker realistic universe compared to the avengers.. there's also speculation that the tats was just a celebration to all the years of the joker.

hometeam 07-15-2015 07:48 PM

“Warner Bros. Pictures and our anti-piracy team have worked tirelessly over the last 48 hours to contain the Suicide Squad footage that was pirated from Hall H on Saturday. We have been unable to achieve that goal. Today we will release the same footage that has been illegally circulating on the web, in the form it was created and high quality with which it was intended to be enjoyed. We regret this decision as it was our intention to keep the footage as a unique experience for the Comic Con crowd, but we cannot continue to allow the film to be represented by the poor quality of the pirated footage stolen from our presentation.”

Sounds like a bunch of butthurt.

I had high hopes for this -- I figured if any DC property could translate well to Warner Bros' humorless, stolid vision of comic books, it'd be Suicide Squad, but that trailer just looks like schlock to me.

Hopefully, I'm wrong, and it's just a bad trailer. I'd love to see a good Harley Quinn and Joker duo on screen.

The idea of Joker having the grill because Batman's spent the past 10 years beating the shit out of him is actually pretty ingenious.

No way he'd be able to keep his pearly whites in tact after a few rounds with the Bat.

At least this looks entertaining. "BvS" looks almost laughably bad, judging by the trailers. The interactions between Cavill and Affleck seem forced and aren't funny, I like Gadot but I think she's miscast as WW, and the special effects look awful (Doomsday looks like he's melting, and Batman jumping from buildings looks as bad as the first Spiderman film's swinging through town). I'll still see "BvS" and hope for the best, but it better at least be somewhat decent or it'll put a damper on their plans for all future Justice League stuff.
