Why don't you and your crazy ass state recognize daylight savings time? Nobody ever knows what ****ing time it is in Arizona. Go outside into the abyss, stare at some cacti making a sundial and figure it out.

I'm jealous of their state's advanced time keeping. Of course I'd rather have the extra daylight year round.

TLO 05-20-2016 09:29 AM

We don't recognize it because we prefer the early sunset. Due to the hot summer weather. Keeps us a bit warmer in the winter as well.

Saves electricity as well, as we use a lot. In fact, a 2008 report from the U.S. Department of Energy said sticking with one time could save approximately 0.5% of electricity per day for the country . That's enough power for 100,000 households over a year.

Did you know that heart attacks jump 25% in the few days following a time switch?

And a 2009 Michigan State University published by the American Psychological Association study showed that DST has adverse effects on the American workplace.

"Following [the start and end of DST], employees slept 40 min less, had 5.7% more workplace injuries, and lost 67.6% more work days because of injuries than on non phase change days," explained the study, which looked at mining injuries between 1983 and 2006 from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.

And not all of AZ is exempt from DST.

ROFL If you have spent some time in Arizona-this is so true. The days seem twice as long in the summer. Walk in the desert for 10 minutes-you feel like you have been walking for days.

No cell phone coverage in the park lands, no people, time is meaningless.

What are you talking about? If we observed DST, sunset would be at 9:00 vs. 8:00.

I said SEEMS longer in the summer. Probably because it is 110 degrees at 9:00 A.M. and stays that way. No clouds, no rain, no wind-just blistering sun. Dry suffocating heat-makes for a LONG day.

I get thirsty every time I hear the word Arizona-makes me want to fill up a canteen. :) Some of the most beautiful scenery in the country though-so I guess it is a fair trade.
