Alright so this chick texted me last night at midnight and of course I was sleeping.

Well she invited me to her art show on Tuesday and I think I'm going to go now since midnight texts usually only mean one thing.

However I don't have any clothes that fit me or nice shoes so I'm wondering where I should go to pick up a not too expensive outfit for Tuesday night.

Goodwill or Men's Wearhouse.

What kind of art show is it? I've been to plenty where most everyone is in jeans and t-shirts. If it's upscale, try Goodwill or similar as Rams Fan suggested.

You don't have any clothes that fit you?

Losing weight has its drawbacks. Hope you get laid.

Its got a hipstery vibe going on. I don't necessarily care about how other people dress. I just want to look nice.

I know a young woman who I see every day in class, same field of study I'm in..

She laughs at a lot of the BS I say.. Thinks Trailer Park Boys is funny.. Likes Star Trek.. Cute enough to pull off a kinda Jodie Foster short hair look..

Anyone figure out where I'm going with this?

$245 at Men's Wear House in Springfield got me three pairs of nice jeans, a house-brand button-down and a vest to match my jacket and slacks I bought there months earlier, if you want a frame of ref on costs.

Tattersall shirt and a pair of decent-looking jeans is rarely a bad look.

Pick something with a slightly slimmer fit. If you feel overdressed, just roll up the sleeves a touch.

I spent about $1500 on clothes that no longer fit me as I was losing weight and about 4 months ago I decided no more clothes until I hit my final weight.

So now you're spending money to get laid, which is everyone, everyday, but why not try to see if you can swing with $0 down. Test you're game, then master it.

Pretty much this.

Check invite to make sure there isn't a dress code.

Black v-neck or sweater is also appropriate. If you think it's going to be a little fancier, throw on a blazer. If it's truly a hipster type event, dress will be all over the place from "artists" in PBR T-shirts and ripped up jeans to "auteurs" in smoking jackets and ascots.

It's all good. Once you've plowed through as much pussy as I have and get your 40 time under 4.8, you'll start to intentionally stack the deck against yourself (ex. not showering, death metal concert shirts to art openings, not committing any $$$) just to make it a challenge. Good luck.

Creep if you constantly appear or have an obvious approach...

It's not impossible but definitely improbable.

Buck 03-03-2013 07:07 PM

This girl, I met at a wedding in September and she told me how much better I looked since I lost all the weight, but I swear I never met her before.

Anyways, she friended me on the book and we've talked just a little every now and again, and I saw her at a party 2 weeks ago and she's been texting/messaging me a lot since then...and I wasn't sure if she liked me or just her bubbly personality.

So I got the text last night and she's been texting me all day....sorta crazy.

Then there is another girl who works on the same floor as me in a different department and she (among other people...) is constantly staring at me. It's annoying...but she's the best looking chick at work. The other day I just decided to start talking to her and now she won't stop talking to me either.

It's fun not being fat and having to look for dates at the bar.

Oh and I quit drinking, but the first chick was at a bar right next to my house last night and wanted me to come out and drink so I don't know if I'm going to break my streak of not drinking or not. I think it might be inevitable if I want to socialize wif da wimmenz.

Depends on the cut of the shirt, TBH. A billowy shirt would look better untucked because it will make you look longer rather than a rotund mass inside a cotton tent. Slimmer cut is fine either way, although if he wants to play it off casual w/ it tucked in he could wear sneakers.

I ended up getting one of those shirts and I conferred online w/ a good female friend of mine, and she said tucked looks better.

I can prattle off a list of reasons which color my perception, but the clearest one comes from the fact that I was in a fraternity for four years and never once asked to be a random mystery date guest for a sorority dance when almost every one of your brothers gets invited to two or more a semester it becomes pretty clear how I'm evaluated by the fairer sex.

I try to not let that get to me, and it works for the most part, but it's not so easy when you're reminded of how much you fail when your ****-up friends land dimepieces and all you've got is a broadband connection and a stable of Spankwire videos to go to. That and your father asking whether or not you smoke pole because you're still not dating a woman after the last time he asked the same question three weeks ago.

Buck, you are a true master and are re-inspiring me to lose my last needed pounds! And I buy almost all my clothes at Goodwill, or Savers. NO ONE can tell! Clothes are "used" after a few wearings, anyway. I bought my Florshiems(sp?) for $8...most of my work pants for $8.... dress shirts...$8...and we have a place called 1/2 of 1/2 store that I buy jeans for $5 and a pair of $145 jeans for $30! Having recently start "rebuilding" my life, including getting a new beater car...and new wardrobe....(plus all my furniture, dishes, silverware, etc.)...I have become a master at being frugal!

Just read your post and signature line. Good work on the weight loss. One question, though...why would you stop at 220 if that isn't your ideal body weight? I mean, I understand being 20 pounds overweight and just living with it, but if you have already lost 90 pounds to get to 220, why not go all the way?

I ran into a health problem and had to become less active. PLUS...I really needed a cocktail or two and and a few fries. Past that and ready to get back on the horse. Besides....I am only 3 pounds over the weight that I played soccer @, for MANY years. And maybe 220 IS my ideal weight...just not by general concensus! Any weight that I lose now is for vanity...or getting laid more....yep, I am going back to it!!!!;)

I was on Blood pressure meds....now I am at ideal blood pressure without any!!!!

220 might have been fine 20 years ago dude!

Like Saul said, you came all this way, just finish the damn thing!

It's tough, but worth it.
