Updating an earlier report, Newsday.com reports talks between the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs progressed Wednesday, Jan. 4, with a deal that would allow Jets head coach Herman Edwards out of his contract in exchange for draft picks, according to a source familiar with the situation. "It's not a done deal, but it's certainly moving in that direction," said the source, who added the deal could be completed within the next few days.
