Yeah, I didn't read too much into what Bill said. The landscape changes soooo much over time, it's not outside the realm of possibility that he may not want to be here anymore. I think the probability is that he will retire here, but nothing is set in stone forever.

And yeah, I think that's why most most hawk fans were pissed when Roy bolted. If he'd have treated the whole thing with a little more professionalism it would have been taken better, but he had to turn on the water works and make a big deal about it and looked like an ass when he bolted.

Well I think it was a couple things....He turned them down once before because he had a great recruiting class and he knew there was open windows for being a great team. In the past he's had the one of the best teams in the history of college bball (96-97 team) and didn't win in it. He wanted to give it one last shot and turned down UNC's initial offer. Then after 2003, I think it was one of those things where he knew that if he didn't win it that year w/ Kansas and those guys, that he was never going to win it period and a change of scenery was needed and his Alma mater called him up and it was just time to come home to be w/ friends family and mentors. And really it was the perfect choice. He won himself a couple titles w/ his Alma mater in his home state etc, and Self kicked his ass and won KU a title in 08 and kicked his ass again in '12 for another FF birth.

Good thing Kentucky's players all left, or Robinson's return wouldn't have even mattered.

And KU's up 2 games in the B12. Baylor played soft at home to OU and lost.

Without Jeff we are a fringe top-20 team and that's hard to believe with Ben & Travis having such good seasons.

Yes, Jeff Withey is the entire team essentially. Without their elite defense, they're not a NC contender. Need him to stay healthy.

If we win another NC this year I won't be mad. A lot of pundits will probably put an asterisk by the team that wins it this year. Even with the players leaving after this year we're set up next year having the 2nd ranked recruiting class coming in. And we still have a shot at Wiggins.

WOW. I wish I would have seen that. I might get a nice chuckle out of that.

**** that horseshit. This isn't the easiest year ever, it certainly isn't the easiest, but the team that wins is going to have a tough row to hoe, and the best team may not win. Just like every other ****ing year.

I know this is a MEN's BB thread but kudos to the Lady Jayhawks, down 18 with about 9 min. left beat ISU by 3 in OT.

Buehler445 01-30-2013 09:24 PM

**** yeah! It's not Baylor, but it is something.

I totally agree I'm just repeating what they have been babbling. We have as good a shot as any even with the way we've been playing.

OkieSt beat ISU

Buehler445 01-30-2013 10:16 PM

Good god. KSU is back in the 2 spot?

**Remember, this has nothing to do w/ their success or lack thereof in the NBA**

Roy
Vaughn
Walters
Boschee
Miles
Hinrich
Pierce
Thomas
Langford
Gregory
Gooden
Collison
Simien
LaFrentz
Pollard
Ostertag

Self
Chalmers
Collins
Taylor
Selby
R.Robinson
Rush
Henry
McLemore
Wright
Arthur
Mk.Morris
Mc.Morris
T.Robinson
Aldrich
Withey

Fun arguement but I give the slight advantage to Roy's players. Maybe it's just the fact that so many of Self's have left early but it's a shame Roy never got a title in Lawrence. He had some immortals.

Is Self coaching? If so, I think we all know the outcome.

Big 12 Website has KSU listed at 2 assumedly because of the better overall record. Is there a head to head that determines the tiebreaker?
