Google Plus

My wife thinks she may have accidentally shared some pictures on line via Google Plus.

If she has, is there any way to erase this mistake and how can she avoid making this same mistake again?

If she accidentally auto backed them up to G+ they are not shared. You have to choose to share them. If she has shared them she would just need to go to her G+ photo album and delete the pictures.
