What's the over under on the scores tomorrow?

'Hamas' Jenkins 06-15-2008 06:53 PM

With the pace that putt had, there's no reason it should have dropped. Redonkulous.

LOL...who could have predicted that? I think that was probably the 'greatest' putt ever in the history of the US open...according to the Johnny Miller it was a one hundredth of an inch of missing. yeah...one hundredth.

kstater 06-15-2008 06:54 PM

I say Rocco shoots 75, Tiger 58.

KCTitus 06-15-2008 06:54 PM

Tiger by at least 9...

Rocco's 45...Tiger's what, 30?

yep...it's gonna be close

007 06-15-2008 06:55 PM

Glad Carl Pettersson didn't win.

OnTheWarpath15 06-15-2008 06:56 PM

Watch Tiger pull a DiVincenzo and sign a wrong scorecard...

eazyb81 06-15-2008 06:57 PM

LOL, did Rocco just say that he wasn't rooting for Tiger to miss that putt? Come on, don't insult our intelligence.

I get the whole "golfer's etiquette" jive, but anyone in their right mind would want to win their first major and the cash that comes with it by any means necessary.

kstater 06-15-2008 06:58 PM

Anyone know the time and channel for tomorrow? Need to set up the Tivo.

There's eleventy billion people and several million in ad revenue for tomorrow...bring on the sheeple

OnTheWarpath15 06-15-2008 07:01 PM

11am-1pm tomorrow on ESPN, then 1pm to conclusion on NBC.

eazyb81 06-15-2008 07:02 PM

So why are they having an 18 hole playoff? Don't most tournaments go to a sudden death, hole-by-hole mode? Or am I completely making this up (I don't watch much golf).

US open is unique...they do a 18 hole playoff regardless no sudden death

Seriously, I think there comes a point where you just need to chill out and tip your cap. No reason to get so worked up over it... yeah it gets hyped up to the moon, but he's probably the one person in sports who is actually deserving of the hype he gets. He just delivers almost every single time. There comes a point where you just gotta tip your cap and respect that you're lucky enough to watch the guy who will probably end up as the greatest, it comes along very few times in sports, and there are far worse people you could give your respect to.

I can't tell if it's your usual sarcasm or not, seems to be a lot more hostility than sarcasm. Oh well. I enjoy watching golf whether or not Tiger's in the hunt or not, but when he's out there pulling stuff out of his behind like the last 2 days, you just tip your cap to the man and be glad you had the chance to see something special.

worked up? hype? you've missed the point. There is nothing that Tiger can do wrong. First, we had the knee surgery, then we had the limping, pouting ( almost HCwDB pouting) while shooting a 30 and now with the 54 hole lead, he's managed to TIE the leader going into 18 on Sunday.

It was clearly the greatest 18 holes in the history of golf...not just pro golf, but USGA golf. In case you didnt read the entire thread, you know that Tiger has never lost after leading 54 holes. So, the fact that he tied it is a HUGE suprise.

I tipped my cap when Tiger won by 17 in 1997 at the masters, the again in 2000 when he won by double digits. Yeah, lets see him win another tournament...all we need is some WWE drama to make it perfect.

btw, did you know that home interest rates are at the lowest they've been in a century and that you can get hair replacement surgery for less than 1 dollar a day?

ChiefsFanatic 06-15-2008 08:03 PM

I had to step away for a bit. My heart stopped when Tiger's putt hit the edge. And Titus said there would not be drama.

I just said he'd be there at the end--if I was placing money tomorrow it would be on Tiger. I didn't even get to see today's round, but yesterday was incredible! Play-offs are often a letdown, but we can hope! Go Rock!

We were watching in the club house after we got in from the tournament. Pretty funny how half the people were against Tiger and Half were for. But when he made that last putt the place erupted. I am a Mickelson fan but I even admit that he is the best by far to ever play the game. I think some people don't get it, because they don't realize how hard it is to pull the shit off that he does. He is definitely fun to watch, but I liked how one of the commentators put it earlier this week, Phil is funner to watch because it is like watching a fat kid chasing a balloon on the edge of a cliff. (he is so up and down)

I'm pretty sure Paul Goydos would like 17 more chances to best Sergio, rather than get shafted by the Island Green at Sawgrass. Yeah, the USGA/PGA/ESPN/NBC/Haliburton is going make some bank off Monday's round, but this setup is hell of a lot more fair for the players.

Keep in mind, this playoff almost perfectly analogous to college football's overtime format compared to the NFL's.

BINGO! :thumb:

I said this earlier, I had 2 surgeries on my knee. After the second one, I played a round of golf about two months later, and my knee was killing me (and I rode in a cart)

Also, I said this earlier, I understand now why I cant make a putt to save my life, and that is because I even get nervous about watching a pro knock in his two foot comeback putt without checking it out first.

The shots the pros hit out of the deep rough, or out of the sand, and the putts they make on greens as slippery as my kitchen floor, are insanely difficult. And Tiger makes the other pros look ordinary.

No sh*t. When you see Tiger hitting out of rough that's as thick as the grass in the OB at my club and flying the ball 200 yards to the flagpin, you're just like.."Wow, I would have been lucky to get under that ball and send it 5 feet, and really probably would have just brought up a huge chunk of turf"

Unfortunately I have been there so many times:mad:

Yeah, Tiger is amazing. The dude is really strong.

007 06-16-2008 06:57 AM

Don't say impossible around him!!! I remember when he had a tree right in his way , I mean 5 feet in front of him, and he got the ball to hook right back to the center of the fairway. It was a practically perfect shot.

smittysbar 06-16-2008 07:40 AM

Phil is another guy that does some amazing things around the green.

Think about this, if Phil was playing at a different point and time (other than the Tiger era) he would own a shit load of Majors himself.

Phil will go down as one of the best to play the game, but playing in the Tiger era will keep him short of many goals, and probably make him the all time 2nd place runner up.

And the other pros know. Sergio put it best, "I would like to thank Tiger for not being in the field."

Both players wearing red shirts.

Rocco bogeys the first hole, Tiger up by 1.

Pablo 06-16-2008 10:31 AM

Wow..Rocco puts it about a foot from the hole on 3.

Tiger is buried in the bunker.

That was a nice shot.

Pablo 06-16-2008 10:35 AM

Tiger bogey's..

Rocco birdie's..

Rocco up one.

KCUnited 06-16-2008 10:58 AM

Talk about a bad break. Rocco just hit one off the cart path twice. That might be it.

ChiefsFanatic 06-16-2008 11:01 AM

He hit the cart-path, twice! FINALLY! A pro golfer with a game similar to mine.:thumb:

KCUnited 06-16-2008 11:05 AM

Helluva 3rd shot by Rocco, he only dropped 1 stroke, damn near saved par.
