Has Anyone Else Bought A New Gas Can Recently?
My old plastic gas can developed a leak, so I replaced it with a new one. Apparently, the federal government has mandated that all new gas cans be "spill-proof." Mine has a spring-loaded cap that you have to pull back, which exposes the spout which exposes the plug. Unfortunately, this "spill-proof" design makes it virtually impossible NOT to spill ****ing gas all over the place when filling up the mower...
I was outside, covered in fuel, basically laughing my ass off at the stupidity of it, and was wondering if others have had the same issues? |
The more the gubbment meddles in things the more they **** things up. And they are ****ing things up exponentially.

Guess I'm not the only one...

First world problems.

We have these useless sons of bitches at work and I hate them.

I broke ours off. No one has time for that shit.

But seriously, I have the same issue. I feel like I'm spilling more gas than I'm getting in the tank.

My dad probably has 35-50 old gas cans, finds them for $.25-.50 at flea markets. Has one of the new type which prompted his new hoarding habit.
|
They're a pain in the ass. An old couple ran out of gas in the mountains yesterday. I took my 4-gallon roto-pax off my atv to get them going. The old buzzard gave me a "Do you know what the hell you're doing?" look after I spilled the first pint down my arm and leg.

Those can be easily fixed. Just take a hand torch and melt that little safety lever off the nozzle.

Did you save the old can. Maybe the old cap fits new.
I have one of this spring loaded pieces of crap I took it off and shove a rag in the top. Figure I will come on some aftermarket thing soon. or find a cap that fits. |
New gas cans blow
