By the way, here is a desktop-sized version of The Signing. It could use some cool text or something maybe for an "official" desktop if someone wants to make one. This version doesn't have Haley or Bowe.

This isn't a court of law.

We all know that Cassel is inaccurate, so to draw the conclusion that he is making inaccurate throws that Baldwin has to adjust to is not making some huge leap.

I dunno, from my short tenure here, the Chiefs have always performed best when your attacks / trolling is the most active....SO I say keep it up!!! If you continue, we could win our first 3-4 games...and get this party started right.

Just don't jump off of the hate bandwagon TOO quickly please....keep hating , since that will drive us to victory.

I was a huge homer at the beginning of 2009 (hell, I defended Haley and Cassel tooth and nail for 10 weeks), and at the end of 2010 I called us getting our ass beat by the Ravens.

Shit, I defended the Tyson Jackson selection...**** me, man.

Us getting beat by the ravens was pretty much an easy call...Sure, I didnt think it would be THAT bad....

But how could you have thought 2009 would be any good at all? Ist that the season where we only had like 20 guys left from the roster from the previos year? Wasn't that seriously one of the worst teams in TEAM history?

I believed in Haley, Cassel, Larry, Bowe, etc. I thought Goff could still play and that the OL wouldn't be a mega disaster.

Thought we could improve on D based on the talent.

Then Clancy Pendergast, 2.7 and Fat Butterfingers Bowe happened.

I don't think anybody has the delusion that any of the Chiefs organization is reading this. Its not why we are posting. Its a statement to other fans about how we feel the front office is letting us down. This team is never going to get anywhere with Matt Cassel.

The more realistic expectation is that if the groundswell is big enough then it gets to the local media and filtered to the organization. If you really think that we are only posting to have our day in court with Pioli and Hunt, you shouldn't even be posting here.

Dayze 07-23-2012 07:52 AM

sadly, I don't think any of the local medial has the stones to even bring up the information identified in Clay's OP.They're too far up the collective butts of Pioli/Hunt etc.

we can only hope someone nationally gets it/link out there.

Hammock Parties 07-23-2012 07:59 AM

Legend has it Cassel never had time to throw against the Ravens.

Note: Charles and Bowe bailed Cassel out on this by forcing and recovering a fumble on the same play.

Now that I've ****ed us over, and it's 2nd and 20, I'll just make it worse by holding the ball way too long, and having no idea about the concept of a pass rush. Note: First Ravens sack in over 100 pass plays.

Do you also think we should bring back Sabby Piscatelli and give him another run-through?

I mean, by letting him go the team is making some terrible assumptions about his ability to play with a full offseason and familiarity with the playbook.

I would hope that a professional team like the Chiefs would be smart enough to deal only with the facts and not blind hate to determine if a guy can play or not play. But that's clearly not the case. Shame.

You know the saying, "You can use numbers and statistics to manipulate people and warp any truth?"

Okay. Use statistics to tell me that Cassel is a good QB.

It's an interesting critical thinking problem. One you would see at a gifted student classroom. There is no wrong or right answer.

I'm thinking. I'm really trying to attack this problem, and I don't think it has a solution. I don't think you can use numbers to tell that Cassel isn't a shitty QB. It's impossible. The only thing I've got is 27-7, and that's been attacked approximately 73 different ways by various posters.

If there exists no bright light in ANY of Cassel's numbers, is it possible for him to not suck?

I don't know, I'm genuinely asking.

It's absolutely the type of statistical evidence that one can use to paint Cassel as the victim of inept management and lackluster talent.

"The talent is clearly there."

Hammock Parties 07-23-2012 02:20 PM

It's easy to defend Cassel with stats.

"In years he wasn't saddled with a horrible supporting cast, or had his team suffer injuries, he has a magnificent 48 to 18 TD/INT ratio!"

"Well, you know, people can point to a lot of statistics to prove their point. I've known Matt for several years and I have a good idea of what he is and what he can do. I'm confident he can be a good quarterback for us, a good starting quarterback, and help us win. We've won lots of games here with Matt in the past and I know we can do it again."

Actually, in one of Pioli's recent interviews he (Pioli) stated that "we don't know what we have in Matt." Makes one wonder just exactly how much evidence a general manager needs to evaluate a player.

He was pretty good that game once we got behind 35-0!

Even great coaches do that. Because there is heavy coverage past the first down marker. The hope is that the receiver can get the yards after catch. I've seen the Pats do it, I've seen the Packers do it, I've seen the Giants do it. It is really a common tactic, but on CP everyone thinks only the Chiefs do it.

That has nothing to do with coaching.

It's a shitty read by Cassel. Throwing to a receiver who has a 5 percent chance of getting the 1st down is terrible.
