Would be nice to win today, but it'd be a lie to say the A's didn't have the pitching matchup in their favor today.

KCCHIEFS27 06-28-2015 10:06 AM

I have a feeling that we own this guy today.

Unsmooth-Moment 06-28-2015 10:08 AM

Another Guthrie start. How many more are we going to give him?

We don't exactly have a bunch of healthy pitchers just waiting to step in. Hopefully we will in a week or two.

I'm not ready to give up on Guthrie just yet, I know he capable of giving us a good start

milkman 06-28-2015 11:03 AM

Just following the game threads throughout the season, it seems that Guthrie gives 2 to 3 good starts, then blows up for a game, followed by 2 to 3 good starts.

He's actually fairly consistent with his inconsistency.

Sounds like a #5 starter to me. Truly, as #5's go, he's not that bad.

Exactly. In his last nine starts he has an era of 5.54. If you take out the blow up Yankees game his ERA his 3.5 in that same time span and that still includes his last start in which he gave up 6 runs.

We are 8-6 in his starts this season. We are 5-4 in his last 9 starts. In two of those losses we lost 2-1 and 3-2. There is not really any reason to complain about that out of your number five starter.

Cain out of the lineup, tweaked his hammy yesterday.

Medlen to Omaha for his next rehab start. 75 pitches.

@McCulloughStar: All Your Favorite Bands Lineup: Escobar 6, Moustakas 5, Morales DH, Hosmer 3, Perez 2, Gordon 7, Rios 9, Infante 4, Dyson 8, Guthrie 1.

No, no. Every other #5 in baseball has a 3.2 ERA and a 1.1 WHIP and tosses 220 innings a year.

When do we start worrying about Cain?

Why Not? 06-28-2015 12:11 PM

Now would be as good a time as any.

Depends on how much worrying you like to do in general. If you don't feel alive unless you are worrying about something that will spell doom for the Royals, then go for it. If you prefer to wait until there's a significant chance that we have a problem, then it is probably early to worry about Cain's health.

Hootie 06-28-2015 12:23 PM

We usually don't hit guys like Jesse Chavez very well but we'll see
