Yesterday's second half through the eyes of CP
I went to a local establishment with the wife, and daughter to watch part of the game. Got there just before kickof,f ordered food, and ate while watching the first half. For some stupdi reason there was an overabundance of Bills fans at this place (at least 2 decent sized tables and a couple booths) I hate taking up a table for the whole game, we were playing like ass, and there were lots of Bills fans being loud (although I would have been screaming had our team showed up in the first half). We left at half time so the server could sell more food, and to insure no Bills fans get cut with the business end of broken Budweiser bottle if a blowout occurred.
Internet was messed up at house so it was either watch the effing Bucs lose another game and push Dolph Lundgren (McClown) to tears or watch the game thread. I chose the latter. Although I never really had a clue exactly what was happening or even where in the field we were and how many yards we were gaining...... I totally enjoyed watching the game unfold thru the eyes of you guys! You had me laughing with tears in my eyes at times, and my adrenaline was pumping like I was actually watching the game. I must commend all involved in the game thread. It was cool watching people start arguing during poor plays, and cheer with togetherness during positive plays. You guys are awesome..... Well, most of you! Go Chiefs!! |
That's pretty cool man. I've been here almost 10 years and I've never done that, and probably won't. But you did just totally make it sound cool.
I used to do it all the time when I was in Europe.
I did it one time in a porn shop/internet cafe on the reeperbahn. Whips, chains, butt plugs, schiza films, and Herm's Chiefs. |
I love watching the game on TV with my laptop on the game thread
I do that all the time, even more so before I could watch the games online...sort-of informative and always entertaining!
Next time announce that you're unable to see the game and many of us will start an almost play-by-play to help you understand what is going on more clearly.

I actually didn't watch the game at all until about the time that they fumbled the punt. Just followed the thread. Now I know what I looked like in Royals playoff game threads. So many pendulum swings. It was an online yoyo of emotion.
I usually follow the game thread, although because I watch on the NFL Sunday Ticket mobile stream sometimes the thread is ahead of what I am seeing so I tend to hang back a little. I also stop reading sometimes when things are going badly because the negativity by a few of the people makes me feel worse. But overall it is pretty good.
I skipped the game thread yesterday just for something a bit different, it was enjoyable, was able to focus on the game even more.
I was in the back bed room, and my wife comes in and goes did your tv black out, I replied that it hadn't, but I should of known.
Two minutes later, the game is out, matter of fact, directv is out all together in the back bedroom. I go out to the living room. "honey, did you touch anything?" Nope she says, "honey, I wont be mad I just need to know." Wifes reply "Well, I tried tightening some wires, and jiggled some stuff." so, for a little while I too was following the game on the thread, while cursing myself reeruned under my breathe. it was a simple question was it not? |
