NFL rejects LDT request to add MD to his jersey
https://chiefsupdate.com/2018/06/23/...ersey-request/
Laurent Duvernay-Tardif officially became a doctor this offseason when he graduated from medical school at McGill University in Montreal. Soon after his graduation, he requested the NFL allow him to add M.D. on his jersey marking him the first active player in this league to become a licensed Medical Doctor in a very visible way. Sadly per reports, the NFL refused, although this ruling has not deterred the young to petition for a reevaluation of the ruling. Until then he will be unable to mark the accomplishment on his uniform. This accomplishment can and will never be taken from him, even if the NFL says no to the title on the jersey. I doubt the NFL will ever allow it as they do not want to any player to get individual notoriety. |
What a bunch of ****wads.

NFL doesn't want something positive shown off towards the fans?

Which is also the reason for the rule about not taking off your helmet while on the field. Doesn't stop them from marketing players anyway. I have always found this to be an interesting double standard with the NFL. |

His jersey name ought to say "Canadian Doc." That's what everybody calls him.

You’d think the NFL would want to take advantage and show that it’s players come from all walks of life. With all the hits the NFL has taken to its image, if Goodell were smart, he would let him do it.

I'm sick and tired of the NFL and their discriminatory practices
