Todd and Mel's Mock

On ESPN last night.

Mel gave us the LB from Vandy. Todd called it the biggest reach in the history of their mock draft.

And on the QB front, Cleveland took Trubisky at 12. Nobody else went in the round.

Found that interesting.

Not high on Cunningham, but they could do worse.. maybe.

Trubisky is the only true 1st rd QB... and even he is not a top 15 one.

Things are starting to settle back down to where they were when the college football season ended. At that time Trubisky had the highest grade and there was some talk Watson could sneak into the first.

Even though mock drafts are never really accurate, most years they at least have similarities to what actually happens on draft night. These two guys... like 'em or hate 'em... usually have a good feel for things. I don't ever recall the wild fluctuations that we are seeing this offseason. Shoot, many mocks are trying to have the top 3 QB's all gone by the 10 to 13 range at the latest.

After this one, I really feel like we will have a realistic shot at Watson or Mahomes... if we want either of them. If not, I will be a little disappointed, but probably survive.

As long as we don't draft another Dee Ford type project player in the first. Putting my trust in Dorsey.

Gotta side with Todd.

Cunningham is a 2nd rounder. He's just too damn small. He looks like he's 220.

Yeah, Mahomes is a bigger project than Ford.

So.

For the record, I would like to have Mahommes but I'd rather trade up into the second for him. Don't think I want him in the first with other first round talent still available. Would like to see a solid CB, or edge added. Then trade back up into the early 2nd and grab the qb they want if he's there. Then draft Chad Kelly in the 4th...
