Why do we need that on the front page for every thread?

Looks that way. Buck started a thread about this in the Media Center.

I just don't see any need for this at all. Of course, I would like to see the thread views column completely dropped as well. It serves no purpose.

maybe it could be placed after the thread starters name instead of having it's own line


at least then it wouldn't make the threads take up more line space :shrug:

Drop thread views. make the username under the thread title unclickable.

That is the way I WISH it worked. I've been trying to figure that out.

Makes the front page look really busy, imo. However, it's nice to be able to tell at a glance that someone has bumped an ancient thread.

What if there was a way to insert that info in the top of the OP? That way the start date is available by mouse-over.

Why take up the space on the front page with a useless field? You can't click on it. Replies serves the same purpose as views in that it shows you just how active the thread is. Actually more so. Seriously, who gives a crap that a thread has been viewed 90,000 times if it only has 1000 replies in it. Or if it only has 5 replies and has been viewed 100 times. It isn't clickable so you can't sort by it.

What purpose does it even serve to anyone?

Hell, that could be where you put the date the thread was started.
