He's butthurt for sure.

He's also correct here. SOC, the political entity, should go dormant until, God forbid, it is needed again. Batman doesn't save Gotham and then come to city council meetings in costume to micromanage the Mayor's policies.

OR

It could become something like a booster club. It could start appealing to the homer crowd, especially with the changes being made.

And then....

When the time is needed again, it will be bigger and stronger than before.

There is no way to prove it, but at this point for anyone to suggest SOC had nothing to do with it, looks really, really silly.

I suppose without Clark coming right out and saying so we’ll never really know, but whenever the fan angst was brought up in the media it was also typically mentioned that fans were flying banners over the stadium.

We can't possibly know. But what we do know is, it's impossible for their message to NOT be heard.

Therefore, we'd have to assume that it did in fact play some sort of role in this.

Organized fan revolts aren't exactly common, especially at the magnitude that Chiefs fans were able to do it.

That's not something that gets ignored. It's certainly something an owner of a Franchise takes notice to.

If I were Hunt, I'd either not answer, or outright lie and say it didn't.

If he did say it influenced him, then we'll have protests twice a year for whatever the Chiefs cause of the day is.

JFC. If he doesn't think the stuff/coverage SOC got didn't at least have part of a reason for Pioli's firing....he's and idiot.

SOC brought attention to the shit product on the field, and how inept Pioli was.

I'm not suggesting that Hunt was unaware of the actions. He'd have to be blind and deaf for that to be accurate. I'm asking whether or not it influenced his decisions or not, and if it did, how much.

No real way of knowing of course, BUT...his whole life he's watched Chiefs fans just be fans...this year was STAGGERINGLY different. If nothing else, he HAD to take into account the pissed off fan base. Even NFLN was mentioning it this morning, saying that the Chiefs have historically had a very passionate fan base but that the fanbase was seriously upset and beat up over this last 4 years. They didn't mention SOC, but who else would they be talking about? Certainly not Barry'sDumbAss...

chiefzilla1501 01-04-2013 11:47 AM

Right, because these changes occurred because Clark Hunt agreed with the Save our Fans message that we were being too mean to our players. Clark Hunt didn't fire Pioli because he was incompetent, but because he wanted to save him from mean fans.

InChiefsHeaven 01-04-2013 11:48 AM

Talking about the fans on NFLN right now again, as a matter of fact.

Bearcat 01-04-2013 11:48 AM

Just the other day I noticed Barry was talking about how the Chiefs needed to get rid of Pioli, basically saying 'talk is cheap, get it done'... it just makes no sense to keep trying so hard to divide the fanbase when everyone got what they wanted. Suck it SOC? WTF is that even supposed to mean?
